    One thing that is demonstrated in this particular video, is echolalia, (timestamp 10:58) the social worker makes a statement “so you look at that?” And roger repeats back “I look at that”. Roger’s previous statement however was “I get shown where that is”, which is different. I see this happen at work (I’m a Learning Disability Support worker), where a professional will ask a client a question, the client repeats back the question, and their echolalia is misinterpreted as an answer. We can double check the client understands by asking follow up questions like “what does your bank statement show you?/ what is a bank statement for?”Just something to be aware of, when doing a MCA assessment.

    What I would like to know if this man is capable or not. For me, I think he is capable because he can communicate about how is spending is money and also, he know what he want to about his money and this really goes with section 1(4). I will like to welcome contrary opinions because I want to learn

      I think he has capacity he’s better with money than many people without learning disabilities

    I have looked after a person with dementia.
    They haveno idea what money is.
    I have always let them for things they want but I have covered everything else.
    It really doesn't work like this
