    That was really neat! The story was different than how Burton's film version was. Mostly because it was Disney. It seemed pretty eerie, too.

      ...because it's from the original. XD Burton took creative liberties...
      ...And there's... kids on this ride...

    I was in Fort Wilderness just last night, and I saw the Headless Horseman chase a carriage out of the wood behind the gift shop. :)

    I know I wish I could see things better in this (though it was nighttime, what can you do) but it's still fun anyway, I never get tired of watching it. I also like to have it on in the background as I do stuff, so it's a lot of fun. Thank you for uploading. :)

    I would have loved to have been in this ride, this would have been so much fun and I love Legend of Sleepy Hollow! :D
    But I have to mention, since I've read the short story of Sleepy Hollow, Ichabod was a bit socially awkward, maybe, but as the story indicates (and the Disney cartoon actually quoted this), he "got along tolerably enough." And he was actually pretty good with his students, and the Disney cartoon got that part right, too. I thought maybe at times he was a little bit of a mooch, but then again, he was pretty poor, and he did try to help the people he was staying with by pitching in with their chores and whatnot. Yeah, he did have a lot of competition with the local bachelors who wanted to marry Katrina, so naturally he wasn't liked by them, but with competition like that, I guess that's to be expected.
    One of the only real problems I may have had with Ichabod, though, is that when he thought about marrying Katrina (as the story also indicates in many areas), he thought a lot about the riches he would inherit on the Van Tassel family farm, not so much about Katrina herself. And to be fair, I would expect a lot of the other admirers she had were thinking about that, too, but who knows? And speaking of Katrina, the cartoon actually nailed her pretty well, too.
    One thing they did nail, though, is that Ichabod had a lot of superstitious beliefs, that was definitely in the story, as well as the cartoon, and mentioned here. I don't think I'd go so far as to call him a coward, necessarily, though, but he did believe in spirits and goblins and stuff, and in fact carried around a book on Cotton Mathers' recordings of witchcraft and stuff like that. Truth be told, I often feel kinda bad for him in this regard, cause he seemed to have a lot of fears that were actually phobias, that made him jump at every shadow in the dark. Ever since I can remember, I've had a fear of the dark, at least a little bit, and I still do have a bit of it to this day, every now and then, so I feel like I kinda relate to him with that. I don't know if I count myself as a superstitious person, though I do believe in a spirit world, but his superstitious fears actually earned him a bit of bullying from at least Brom Bones, and I was picked on a little for my fear of the dark when I was younger.
    I just kinda feel bad for Ichabod as a character, every now and then, cause in my honest opinion, the impression I get of him from the actual story by Washington Irving is that he wasn't really that bad, and was a product of his times. And when I see him called a coward, something just doesn't sit quite right with me, cause of the beliefs he had, which could make him easily intimidated. But this is just my two cents.

    This is great! It's like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow meets Blair Witch Project, LOL. Although I'm sure it was considerably less BLair Witchy in person. :)

    Thanks!
    It's kinda hard to tell from the video, but is that as spooky as it seems? From watching it it seems really creepy & startling at times, much more than anything else Disney has done before.

    I did this a few times. And I think that I’m actually on this particular ride. I can hear my laugh a few times and I’m sure I hear my ex husbands voice. I was sitting near the camera person because my laugh is very clear. If you have any photos of this night, please let me know

    was the horseman an animatronic? no WAY a person could have apumpkin on his head and be able to breathe

    • @bluelunadog
      @bluelunadog 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, it was a real person on a horse running through the night. A few times we were on the ride and the horseman’s horse runs behind the wagon and literally puts its head in the wagon and everyone screams. I was sitting back in the back when it happened and you could feel the horses breath. So cooool
