It's the connection between Charlene and the audience. The band and the orchestra just make it an awesome (in every respect of the word) performance.
This song means a lot to me as it reminds me of my night clubbing days back in the late 80’s early 90’s and of my close Army mate Will who has since left this world. Every time I hear it I’m transported back to a great time in my life.
You would have loved this version Will. I miss you my brother.

Ross McFarlane's drumming is just amazing! The commitment, the attitude, the power, the minimalism and of course the head movement :) Just pure joy to watch and listen. Not to take anything away from the rest of the band and orchestra, obviously! Great musicianship all-together!

It's actually Barrowland but in Glaswegian slang we say Barrowland and it's an area where people sold goods from barrows,and the venue where they are playing used to be a dance hall in the area by the same name and just about everybody's parents and grandparents went there to hear bands and dance. I hope that's helpful,so it's a name that Glaswegians know well hence the cheering😊
