I personally liked this kind of games, I'm a sucker for formation based games especially shooting. This game revolves around formations, team work and if you fall in line of formation you are severely punished. The game mechanics is severely limited, it basically forces you to play with your team. barely any fps has that kind of mechanics and you can just go anywhere.
It reminds me of fun I had on a different game. mount and blade north and south mod commander battles in that were awesome when people still played it.

Vade You and your Prussian Companions could join the Artillery Battalions with the Experience you have It would give a Great advantage to the Union or Confederate Army.
Vade you have any thoughts about the future of Post Scriptum. Don't regret buying it but I'm sad it might be dying the moment I'm trying to get into it
Well the weapons were much more advanced with the mass introduction of rifling you must remember that the overwhelming amount of them were still single shot as more advanced weapons like the Spencer or Henry were hard to make and very expensive. Also the main reason they marched side by side is command and control. The battles were massive and radios were decades away from being invented so the easiest way to command your troops and mass their fire power was to use linear tactics. The tactics also did advance a lot over the course of the war as trench warfare began to be used quite a bit during the end.
The civil war was a lot of trench warfare, man, it wasn’t always line-battle volleys. Even guerrilla skirmishes were prevalent. Line formations were still the most effective way to inflict maximum damage in minimal time to advance troops because of muzzle loading weapons.

despite it being dumb i actually prefer it to what war is nowadays. Back then you could see your enemy shooting at you, you know where your enemies are most of the time. Nowadays you would get dinked by a sniper and you would never know where he was.

I get about 30 - 50 on a mid spec PC. Proper optimization is key and at least the game isn’t super fast paced.
