Great review!! Thank you! My wife and I are looking at somewhere comparable to Hyatt Ziva Cancun. We are thinking Hard Rock Riviera Maya. Hope it doesn’t disappoint because Hyatt Ziva in Cancun is amazing and hard to beat.
I prefer the Cancun one more as it’s all in one place. The restaurant feel more like restaurants as were RM restaurant feels like glorified lunch rooms. I went to RM during Covid times so maybe that’s why I just didn’t love the vibe here at all and the rooms were old and dingy and dark. They def need an update!! Cancun vibe was more entertaining and fun. I think the food also was much better in Cancun.
Depends on the one you book. If you book at Unico, you can go to Hard Rock, but not the other way around. HR to HR, no problem. If you want to go to Unico, you would need to buy a day pass

Depends what you like. Hard Rock Cancun; beach, close to the airport, private area if you are a member or guest of one. Hard Rock Riviera Maya; more restaurants, adult-only side, 75 minutes from the airport, biggest spa in Mexico.

I have a Diamond room and they told me that this room has VIP access to some private areas, do you think that I can use de third-floor area, like you comment? You forgot to mention that Maya has a nightclub with jacuzzis in it, so people don't have to go all the way to Playa del Carmen for the night life.
That's because I have 8-years-old and that Night Clubs are not on my radar anymore. :) Thanks for the reminder.

They just renovated HR Riviera Maya in 2021. It is fully reopened now and the new Hall of Fame pool (members only) is amazing.

I was at both and reviewed both. RM was not had good as HR Cancun in February

Are the cabanas accessible to everyone in HR Cancun or do you need to pay for it?
Unless you are an Hall of Fame member, you need to pay. Even for HoF it is not easy to get them at times.

Hello, almost. The only area that are only for the Hall of Fame would be the two Islands in the centre of the main pool and the Cold Play area.

Yes, if you are a VIP or you travel with an HoF, you will have access to the third-floor pool and restaurant.

What restaurants allow kids at RM? Looks like many are on the Heaven side.
Only Toro at all time, and all of them in the summer and at Christmas time. But, normally, none.

The Cancun hotel it’s horrible , (the food , the service, and it’s very small ) , I love Riviera Maya and Punta Cana
Hard Rock Cancun was great last time I was there and Hard Rock Riviera Maya was not good for the first time. I guess it depends on the staff.
