I don't think he had Olajuwon's skill set. he was a 6'10" guy with guard's feet and footwork. Even these big guys who can handle the ball now (Lamar Odom types), they didn't have the low post moves that Hakeem did.

He played his usual minutes in this game he just sat the 1st half of the 1st quarter and late in the 4th when it was a blowout. Ironically the game was closer in the 1st quarter when Rodman sat.
It was the entire team's decision and Popavich supported it. Rockets actually made a lot of their runs when Rodman was playing. Spurs made a lot of their runs when he was sitting.

David Robinson did not get dominated in this series he just lost .what would I have done was put Rodman on hakeem full time and let Robinson shadow and rest on defense and spurs would have won this series
Robinson being the primary defender was the logical decision obviously, if Robinson had trouble with Dream on his own Rodman wouldn't have made that much of a difference overall in the stretches Rodman was on him it was usually with double team help. Rodman was able to handle Shaq but the Rockets were a more difficult matchup because Dream moved around more often compared to Shaq and Horry who Rodman was matched up with most of the series was a shooter.

His overall numbers in the 95 postseason run were slightly above the 96 postseason run, the Rockets were making him play defense on the Bulls he would usually just roam around if he wasn't guarding low post players he wasn't able to do that often this series.
