Ride safe, like as if every car is trying to kill you and don't push the tires. Trust the tires, but don't push them.

got to ride a yamaha venture royale back in the day. was hanging out at night when a farm boy i knew pulled up on one. the bike was new but covered in dust from the farm. he was raving about it and and i kinda shrugged because it was filthy and looked heavy and slow. well he said, "watch this!" and flew up and down the street quicker than i thought was possible for a bagger. he kept racing back and forth. i thought he was nuts. but then he let me take it for a spin. man that thing ripped. later i owned two vmax 1200s but i never forgot the venture royale. always wanted one. and for anyone who has ridden a gen one vmax you will recognize that sound!

Ah yes my dream bike. This, Suzuki cavalcade, kawasaki voyager, Honda goldwing. I'm not into Harleys but these Japanese touring classics are perfect style and comfort. My family is skeptical about motorcycles, but I hope to own one someday.

I have owned the 1300 Venture with all of the extra bells and whistles loved the intercom and stereo when travelling and I found them great handling bikes in the twity roads, sadly ours got wrecked in a flood, the thing I would have done is to put braided brake lines on it, and yes they are a big comfortable long distance touring motorcycle great video thanks

  • @wflccb83

I owned this exact bike, minus the CB option. I loved the bike and it gave me many years of riding enjoyment. There are times I wish I still had it, but then I remember all of the age related issues that were a yearly chore. Brake caliper rebuilds and system bleeds, carb work, rebuilding the electronics boards in the dash, leaky suspension air lines, seat finish wear, 2nd gear woes, the list goes on. One thing for sure was it was ahead of its time in many ways, and the motor, OMG. Wasted many a AspenHog off the line and others as well that under estimated the Royal.

That's a gorgeous looking thing, far better looking (to my eye's) than a Goldwing, great video, only found out about these as i'm buying a stock 95 V Max, have watched your Supertrapp V Max vid dozens of times, that thing sounds amazing, Supertrapps would be very expensive to get here in Scotland (about £900 by the time i pay import tax and shipping) so will be getting Delkevic cans for it.

Oh, and I believe what makes these 1st Gens handle so well is that the Gas Tank is under the Seat, which really lowers the center of Gravity.

Looking at a ‘85 that was neglected, as a rebuilt-restore. I’d probably spend 20-30 hours wrenching on it and roughly 2000$ in tires and misc replacement parts to rid of the rot and gremlins. Has about 34000 miles on the odo. In 2024 is this bike something worth getting onto or should I Passover for something else?

Way over powered for the chassis. This bike will hit 120mph in nothing flat. This on a bike that is not safe going over 85 mph. The power will take you over the top and kill you trying to slow down. So comfortable and powerful you will not realize you are going to fast until it may be too late . It is a tank slapper bike for me so I got rid of mine. I tried fork dampers and fork braces and all it did was raise the speed of death another 10mph which was not good. So. I had to get rid of the bike before I scratched it or killed myself.
