Bianca Andreescu Addresses BACKLASH From Critics..
Welcome back to Sporting Central. Canadian favourite Bianca Andreescu has hit back at her critics after she was accused of gamesmanship in her first round win in Toronto. Andreescu was involved in a dramatic two-set victory over Daria Kasatkina where she called a Medical Time Out and took her time in vital moments of the match.
The Canadian drew criticism after taking long breaks between sets and in the first set tiebreak. During the tiebreaker, Andreescu sat down and took a long time to emerge. Andreescu came away with the hard-fought victory, but viewers pointed out that her opponent offered a 'cold' handshake after the match. The Canadian is no stranger to criticism with Angelique Kerber once hailing Andreescu a 'drama queen'. But, this time, her behaviour garnered plenty of criticism as many claimed Andreescu was using 'gamesmanship' to put her opponent off.

It would appear you are the drama queen. This isn’t a story. Bianca has has a lot of real injuries that have taken her completely out of the game. Her actions speak to caution. Important extra note, the next match after the kerber match she had to withdraw from the injury she took the medical timeout for vs kerber. So obviously not faking it. The fact is she now tends to be cautious about potential injuries

Bianca Andreescu, you probably want to get the best treatment you can at this point. The Hospital for Special Surgeries in NYC may be the best place in the world for orthopedics. A friend of mine, Dr. Jon Deland MD works out of there as a specialist on feet and ankles. He is a great guy with great morals. He is a talented surgeon. However, he will only recommend what you really need. If therapy is best, he will recommend only that. You may have already had some surgery by now.
