  • This is usually a 'home visit scenario' in the CSA and crops up on a regular basis. Have a look at the video with your Trainer and explore how you might tackle this scenario. Why not video it, as it might make a great COT?
Have a look at the consultation skill timeline for this consultation or look at our other resources

Also have a look at our CSA course

excellently empathised. DNAR explained well. patient will not be "abandoned" till the end.
probably assessing for depression - check his mood - would be an option.

If you have a look at the Pennine GP Training website, go to the MRCGP section, look at the CSA case videos, look at consultation 4 and there is a download that plots the consultations skills on display for this video against the timeline. So play the video and use the timeline to see the wide array of skills displayed

Poor sound, please work on the sound in all your videos. All the videos are great though :)

Why is the doctor constantly smiling , the body language is not at all empathetic! Constantly moving chair!consultation though hardly audible is good

Akashazasc KhanAsad I quite agree. This doesn't feel very empathetic to me. She nods a lot and makes good eye contact, but that's it. Doesn't pick up on any of his queues. Just smiles and nods.... And I agree with previous comment, her top is too low cut -inappropriately so. Sorry to be critical...
