    The whole concept of being personally happy with the aesthetic is something I was missing from other folks doing permaculture/guilds. I'm happy to have found you. I suspect anything you grow is fine in my area.

    So happy you are speaking on this subject! I've just recently discovered the concept of urban permaculture because of you, and have been gobbling up all of your videos.
    Creating Guilds, is the one thing that I've felt I have a lack in understanding. I'm very excited about upcoming episodes.
    Much appreciation for what you offer.

      Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

    Just bought three apple trees and two pears from a local nursery! I’m very excited to make guilds!!!!

    • @Acts-1322
      @Acts-1322 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hope they were different species but that also bloom at similar times for cross pollination! Also be sure disease resistant.... PEARS: moonglow & Kieffer are resistant. APPLES: Liberty, gold rush, freedom, jonafree, enterprise, Priscilla are generally quite resistant to the common diseases (depending on your area & each microclimate!) Prune to central leader for apple and pear

    Do guilds have to be under the tree or can they be in the general area?

    How do you prune fruit trees? Especially so they don't grow too big to harvest...

  • @kimjones2056
    @kimjones2056 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I keep trying but the weeds force out the plants i put in.

  • @BetzelemElokim
    @BetzelemElokim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What always stops me with underplantings is the fear of "but how will I reach into the tree to harvest/prune?" I hate the idea of stepping on plants! All the "ground covers" I see are 8-12in tall, and I know I'm going to stomp them dead! Especially if it's something like strawberries that'll make a mess on my shoe. Is this a reasonable fear or am I (again) overthinking it?

    What about dandelions and aloe vera?? Are they nitrogen producing plants to benefit the fruit trees?Judi

    • @ParkrosePermaculture
      @ParkrosePermaculture  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Neither are nitrogen producers. Dandelions are technically “invasive” where I live but I love them because bees love them and my chickens love the greens.
      Aloe is not Hardy where I am and I grow it indoors in pots. It’s also not a nitrogen producer but is a very useful plant!

      @@ParkrosePermaculture Thank you. We are in SW Arizona so the Aloe is everywhere & the Hummers love the flowers. Dandelions - I have to grow by seed & did not do well last year - will try again. Judi

    Are there any updates on the Bee swarm you moved to a Bee box in your yard back in May 2020 ?
    It seems that Bees should always be a natural part of any Permaculture space.

    I am excited about the concept of guilds. Would you be open to sharing some information on building a guild in reverse? I have accidental morels in one of my raised beds, and I want to keep them Very Happy.

    Angela, could you do a future video about gardening on a slope and erosion control?

    • @ParkrosePermaculture
      @ParkrosePermaculture  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will definitely try! My yard is a gentle slope so it isn’t a big issue for me but I know lots of folks have to work with big slopes.

    • @pantichrist4043
      @pantichrist4043 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Native rose varieties are good for erosion control. Not sure where you are, but I’m using Nootka Roses on my hillside here in Oregon.

      quite challenging but also encourages creativity.
