Sheikh Dr. AbdulHai Yousef is of Sudanese descent and was born on the 21st of Rajab in 1384H (25th November 1964) in Cairo,Egypt the youngest of his 5 brothers and sisters. His love of Islamic studies developed during his visit to the Islamic University of Medina after winning a Quranic recitation competition in which he was rewarded with an umrah (minor pilgrimage) of which part of the reward was a visit to the city of medina. At the point in time he got accepted in the University of Khartoum as well as the Islamic University of Medina. After which he travelled to Islamic University of Medina to begin his studies, in which he memorised the entire Qur'an and then in 1403H enrolled into the faculty of Shariah as well as attending the various lessons and lectures at the Prophet's Masjid, once he had graduated he then moved to the emirates in 1988. During his time in the emirates, he used to deliver the Friday sermon, teach regularly and after a few years became the imam of sheikh Muhammad bin zayid masjid in abu dhabi. He stayed in the emirates for roughly 4 years before moving back to the Sudan in 1992. He completed advanced studies at the University of Khartoum.
He is now currently the head of the Islamic Knowledge
Department at the University of Khartoum in Sudan
and the head of the islamic scholars association

some website that was breaking down the different categories of salafis in sudan. Also I saw him in a video praising bin laden.
I read somewhere that this shaykh is a takfeeri. Is that true?
