I think that another thing all E46 owners should get is the BlueBus. Its the absolute best bluetooth solution for these cars and adds steering wheel controls to the OEM steering wheel buttons as well as displaying the current song playing on the head unit.
they need to put E46 is production again with few modern touches as the game publishers remaster the games, just a great car to drive

I’ve owned both an E36 and E46 as a daily driver. I’d definitely go with the E46 if you can only pick one car for everything. It’s much more comfortable, the interior doesn’t fall apart (as badly as the E36), and it’s actually pretty quick compared to regular traffic (in 330ci spec).
Obviously try to get a manual, but if you can only afford the auto it still handles amazing and the engine sounds glorious with the right exhaust. The car still puts a smile on my face after two years.

I have 320ci since 1 and a half year. Underpowered but insane fun, especially in touges and some illegal stuff😂. If you want a fun car, this is perfect. If you want a daily, don't do it. Don't get me wrong, I daily mine & it never left me stranded, but its old, sealings are giving up, wind becomes louder, if you are on coils like me u feel every bump, its noisy af in there. So city/touge fun driver - perfect. Daily highway - ass

Every E46 I owned, first thing I do is replace clutch fan with electric, change out coolant hoses with silicone, plastic expansion tank for aluminum and many more other things to ensure I'm not stranded lol

All an E46 M3 needs is bigger brakes that don't affect the car's corner weight. Maybe wheels.
the 2.8 is very easily modified with a different intake manifold to give it 10+ hp min easy.

Just wait till you hear about the diesel ones with the M47 and M57 engines and then wonder how to import them to the US and gap some Hondas with some tractor juice and then get some MPGs that even some Priuses are jealous of
So, yeah best all around car made IMO which I'm not biased at all, I surely don't have one and surely don't get 40MPGs daily driving mine and sometimes smoking others and other times drifting it just casually 😁
