    I really like the glue stick trick and the tape trick! You are a genius!! Do you have any experience making flashcards for kids? I guess it's like what you said, "answer pieces." What paper do you use, plain paper or cardstock? I'm considering thick cardstock and 3mil lamination pouches or trying 32lb plain paper and 5mil pouches. Do you have any suggestions on what to choose?

    Thanks for some cool tips!!
    One random little side thing: "mil" in this context has nothing to do with milliliters (as I _think_ I'm hearing you say, e.g. at 2:05) or millimeters (that would be way way thicker! -- though I don't think that's what you're saying), but rather *thousandths of an inch* (milli-inches? 🙃):
    "A thousandth of an inch is a derived unit of length in a system of units using inches. Equal to 1⁄1000 of an inch, a thousandth is commonly called a thou /ˈθaʊ/ (used for both singular and plural) or particularly in North America a mil (plural mils)." -- quoted from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thousandth_of_an_inch ... in case you didn't know, now you do! :)
    (Though as someone who's done some metal machining, I prefer the term "thou" for that measurement (not to mention "tenths" (1/10,000th of an inch) or "mics" (1/1000th of a millimeter, aka 1 micrometer))... but, for whatever reason, the laminator folks all still use "mil".)

    When you say “answer pieces” are you referring to the sheets that you use dry erase markers on? I purchased your morning work binder yesterday. I’m so excited to start prepping it :)

      Answer pieces... any of the smaller pieces you are laminating.

    Great tips! I am a mom and I loved the long laminating trick. As a side note, the measurement is in millimeter (for distance), not milliliter (for liquid) LOL!

    Can you tell me how you keep your pouch from working it's way to the edge of the machine so it ends up creasing and messing or bunching up?

    • @mrsdscorner
      @mrsdscorner  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You have to feed it into the machine straight.

    When you laminated Today does the piece of tape still need to be on the lamination or can it be removed. I’m laminating posters and I feel that the tape will stick out.

    The laminating pouches' thickness is measured using the metric system. 1 cm can be divided into tenths, so 1/10 of a centimetre equals one millimetre. The pouches are labeled as "3 mil" for some reason, but the International symbol for milimetres is "mm". Please note that it's millimetres and not millilitres. Millilitres (mL) is a form of measurement for volume. For example, a can of Coke is about 355 mL. 😊🇨🇦

    When you say for hack #3 to cut the seam, do you mean to cut the whole sealed part then re-tape it back together?

    • @mrsdscorner
      @mrsdscorner  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You cut the seal off, yes. Then tape the cut pouch to the other pouch. You don't tape the cut pouch back together, no.

    My file folder will not fold without the lamination coming apart from the paper. How do you fold it after laminating?

    • @mrsdscorner
      @mrsdscorner  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I crease it with something hard, like the handle on scissors or a thick pen.
