In some early scores timpani counted as transposing instruments, because they could only play the tonic and the dominant. Meaning that the timpani, which in this case is in d and a, would be written as c and g. I guess Beethoven confused writing them in transposing and in concert pitch.
@@kronkepus3671 i think you know what i meant but if not then i wasn’t confused about the whole transposing thing i was confused that it showed concert pitch for a note there

Misprint/error. Should be notated as G (sounding A), but they just notated the concert pitch accidentally.
