I visited the Holocaust museum in Washington DC the first week it opened. If you think you can’t hear silence , you can. The silence was tangible in the museum as I stared at each glass case that represents history. It was such a silence walking through the museum that it evolved to be my greatest and most compelling tutor. It was when I arrived to the enclosed glass cases filled with brown and black shoes piled on top of each other , I felt paralyzed with sorrow and grief. I understood just then that we all needed to bare witness in one way or another to the memory of the Holocaust in order to recover and to truly understand the words “ Never again.” Shalom 🙏🏼 ☮️

Govt's erase history all the time, China, Russia, North Korea, even the good ol USA has practiced this. Hell, Florida and
Texas right now are removing and destroying books in schools as an excuse over the gays. All dictators practice erasing history, Trump has managed to also erase important documents as we all well know. He flushed them down the toilet, bahwooosh and thats why the white house had many flooded toilets in his part of the white house wing where the Trump family made a living. Now we know why he alawys made odd remarks of toilets with low water pressure.

I simply cannot see concentration camps without getting deeply sick and nervous. And I have visited the “easiest” one, Terezin, where the Czech elite was arrested after the occupation (artists, writers, bankers, journalists, politicians, lawyers… women, children…). The dark and long corridors are claustrophobic. We shall never forget the Holocaust.

The one thing I really appreciate about Germany is unlike Japan, UK or even the US it doesn't hide from its horrible past. They are even taught the horrors of Nazi crimes from a very young age. It takes strength to actually acknowledge and make amends with the victims of such a brutal past even if it wasn't done by you but rather your ancestors. Yes the Nazis were horrible people but today's Germany is far from them.

It’s a journey in this video of the chilling effects used against these victims of ww2. For peace of mind, it’s not easy to merely see this presentation. May peace come soon to Eastern Europe in this war... and then to battered Ukraine. May Russian aggressors met their destinies with charges of war crimes... as well. When we were kids, we used to play a game we called “Nazi Concentration Camp”. My friend had a fenced in garden we used as a concentration camp and convinced younger children to play the prisoners. We told them that we we playing “Hogan’s Heros” an that they were American soldiers. Though, we weren’t playing colonel Klink or Sergeant Shultz. We were Himmler and Goebbels even though those guys never worked the camps. We would make them line up for count and then play beat them. Eventually, we got too aggressive with the prisoners and their parents found out. Little did I know that they were actually Jewish. I wasn’t the one who picked them. I was a guard. It’s a reminder of how this actually happened and should never happen again. This is what your cancel culture is doing. You try and erase anything evil and then that leaves no examples to teach the upcoming generations. The German people are not proud of this, they are bearing the ugly scars of their heritage. I’d wager that there are no sites to demonstrate the horrors of slavery in the United States like there won’t be any mention of the residential school horrors in Canadian text books, and it really goes to show. You can’t erase the past and expect a better future as a result. You can be ashamed of your past while still acknowledging it. This is neither the time or planet to be sensitive in.
