hiya sir, found out I got full marks in my English lit today and just wanted to say this is the video that made me fall in love with literature so thank u xx
I thought that a hand 'trembling' can also be in the context of anger as Scrooge repeatedly asks the question if he can still change (perhaps as the ghost can't respond). Then when he realises, it becomes the 'kind hand.' ?
Thank you Mr Salles! Thank you so much for your help in English! This is a BEAUTIFUL AMAZING ANALYSIS! I find stave 4 difficult to understand but you made things very easy!!
Sir , apparently we will have teacher assessment . I really want to get 7s and above but I’ve always got grade 5s . What should I do to improve my grades fast but effectively ? Thank you
Ask your teacher for top grade essays. Make notes on them. Leave them for a few days. Try to write them from memory. Then check your essay and make notes on what you need to do to improve it. Leave it a few days. Write the essay again.
Is this far-fetched or for the quote "for the first time the ghosts hand appeared to shake" could it suggest that the phantom is afraid of Scrooge because the phantom only exists in a timeline where Scrooge is a miser, but now that Scrooge has changed, the phantoms existence may be in jeopardy and is thus fearing it's life ??
Maybe. If you look at the rest of the exchange: 'Your nature intercedes for me, and pities me. Assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me, by an altered life!” The kind hand trembled.' It is because the ghost has now been persuaded to intercede and help Scrooge rather than condemn him. He is trembling because he is caught between wanting to condemn, but finding he believes in Scrooge's change. For me, that is why he trembles. However, you can also argue, if you want, that kindness overcomes the ghost's fear of death.
