It seems that 甘于 and 愿意 have a similar meaning, but 甘于 implies submitting to, or accepting some limitation or constriction or mediocrity. So if someone invites me to dinner by saying: "你甘于来我家吃饭吗?", then I should probably be suspicious. :-)
Haha.. yes, there’s definitely more to the story before someone ask you this question using 甘于 ... it’s like saying: (so after what you heard, are you willing to come to my house for dinner? ) :-)
