Always an interesting educational video !!! Cant wait to see it completed and Thank you for fire blanket link
Thanks Will!! That blanket is great when you're welding under a car or sitting next to it!!☻
Comfy seat back now, nice job on the springs RK. 👍
Good idea changing the color on frame, will blend in nice 👍
Take Care and be Safe Bud
Nice job on that RK. Just like they would in the old days. I'm thinking about grabbing one of those blankets. Makes a lot of sense.
Thanks Carl!! That blanket is great when you're welding under a car or sitting next to it!!☻
Gotta make sure Road Queen is comfy when she's out cruising with you!
nice to see the licence plate wall too and what a result about the badge upside down :o)
I never would have thought to use a steel plate to mend those springs. Great solution! Always learning something new. Thanks RK!
Great stuff! Those springs will feel much better now. I still can't believe that patch was installed backwards!
Great idea on fixing those springs. Although you might have enjoyed a broken spring once in a while. Maybe not. Excellent brushing of that paint as well. Thanks for the video's. Love that patch.
And to think, a 2CV's seats are just made up of a metal tube frame, some rubber loops with metal hooks that hook onto a sheet of canvas with something like coat hanger wire running on each side from top to bottom, and they are SUPER comfy seats!!! All these springy thingies are just overkill... :P
Great job Buddy, I like how you found out what the emblem was. Lots of work restoring an old truck but that's what makes it fun. Keep up the great work
The matching seat brackets are a nice touch. Thanks for the information on the welding blanket...I need one.
Another thing fixed and painted. I bet the back of that seat will feel better the way you fixed those springs.
Once in a while Canadian navy ships would do a port call at the shipyard I worked at. I really liked the lines on their vessels.
Interesting on the plates. My 76 Jeep J10 pickup bench seat is saggy on the drivers side.. It doesnt need re appaulstered (spelling) but the springs are broken and sagged.. I ttied ti weld em but my welder wont work on the steel. Maybe i gatta sand it down a tad though. But as for the sagging springs.. i wasnt sure what to use to help stiffen them up
G'day Mate. The paint turned out nice. 👍🏻 How many of the kids today would know how to do that trick? 😉
I'll have a 1959 Ford truck to work on soon. It's coming from the same guy I did the 94 Harley for. I've been looking for videos, manuals, and tech sheets. Anything that will help me get educated and look good when I start doing videos on it. The color on the 59 is called "Indian turquoise" (I think) It was the closet color I could find using a color chart I found online. The color on your truck looks very close.
That should be a good series!! My color is Caribbean Turquoise!! Might be the same color just different name!! Ford was great for doing that!! Good luck with it, If there is something ya think I could help you with drop me a line!!☻
I think I would have put the metal slats on the foam side for better weight distribution love the turquoise touch grandfather had a 57 T-bird that color thanks for your great video
Hey RK, what kind and brand of paint did you use on the truck? I’m going to be fixing the floors on an old Bronco and I was going to use Centari or Imron, but can’t find it in the color I need. I’d like to stay single stage and not base clear. Any recommendations?
I got my paint from TCP Global, I just used Acrylic Enamel!! Check them out on the Google, they should have anything you need!!☻
What kind of heater do you have in your garage? Nice work on the truck.
Thanks Ken!! The Heater is a 25K BTU PROFUSION!! Got it from Northern Tool!!☻
That patch being sewn on backwards is weird...
So interesting. You see a beautiful restoration at the cruise in but until you follow the finite details such as these kinds (hundreds of little projects) of repairs and restorations you can't really appreciate the final product.
I'm not convinced that the origin of the badge is correct. It is similar to the Royal Canadian Navy emblem, but the shape of the crown seems wrong. I'll do more investigation tomorrow (it's about 1:30am right now).
It appears to be a cross between a standard naval badge and a ship's badge. From your location I think Canadian is most likely but it could also be British, Australian, British Merchant navy or even some other British Commonwealth naval unit.
I know from experience how difficult it can be to trace the origins of things like this so I think I will leave it there.
Did the parts truck not have a seat? I thought you might rob a couple out of that.

Damnit man! I hate it when that happens!. Your solution was great. I might have tried to crimp the springs back together with nicopress collars which I hate to use in general, but might have there. Again, I like your solution, should be great for a not total restored truck to run down the turnpike every now and then....
Good job buddy :) It's pretty crazy how much that seat cover has faded over time!
Those darn Canadian's are everywhere. The seat bar colour is too cool.
Yeah Buddy!!☻
