Calvin and Marie make an overnight trip to Helen, Ga. for a little sight seeing and relaxation.
We stayed at the Riverbend Hotel and Cabins. We had a very nice cabin with a nice view of the Chattahoochee River. We watched the people floating down the river in their tubes for hours.
I am missing the times my husband and I did things like this. He passed away in 2020. Enjoy every minute you can with each other.

I never had children so I'm isolated, but in a beautiful small old gold mining town in the foothills of northern California. I really enjoy spending time with you in beautiful Georgia!
Thanks very much Rosemary. Yes, my brother is doing good. He is 70 years old and he was never married so his siblings is the only family that he has left. Gerald loves to watch TV. He was watching the three stooges. He also loves old westerns. I can imagine how beautiful it is where you live.

What a nice get away trip. The drve was just beautiful. I live in a desert area & so nice to see beautiful green trees. The tubers were so fun to watch having a good time. It's so nice just be be in a peaceful place to appreciate what a beautiful place God has created for us. Being quiet & at rest is so healthy. Sitting by that river & hearing the birds & soft laughter is better than going to a spa. Thanks for sharing your well deserved trip. That definitely is a nice place to visit. Watching all the people in tubes go down the river I myself enjoyed. I bet that is fun. I like the cabin where you stayed very nice especially the porch. The idea of no cooking is a vacation! A change of scenery is always good. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, my! I haven't been to Helen GA in about 20 years. Things have changed a lot since then. Glad you guys enjoyed your little vacation. Sometimes an overnight trip can do as much good for the soul as a week-long vacation. I love watching your videos......I always know they're gonna be something good! 😉👍🥰

The Moss Family live in Helen. It's always good to get away even for a day. I've seen those shops when the Moss's go into town. Looks like a nice day there. Nice cabin. Marie when your on vacation it's okay to eat junk food. 😆

❤Calvin & Marie, Friends, I couldn’t be more thrilled if I were on a vacation! If anyone I know deserves a break packed with relaxation, peace, 🕊️ nothing scheduled or planned to do work wise, no cooking, no THINKING about what to cook.🧑🍳 As you said, Marie, enjoying nature. The sounds of the river flowing over the rocks is so relaxing, and aren’t outdoor swings the best?? Sitting outside until or after dark reminds me of when I was a kid and we lived in town. People all up and down the street would be sitting on the front porch and as folks going up the sidewalk would all ask them how they were doing or maybe just throw up their hands. Mom’s would be calling out, “Calvin, Marie, it’s time to come in. It’s dark!” 😂 When you go to the Smokies do y’all ever go to Townsend? Townsend is my Happy Place. It is more commercial than it was the first time I was there which was about the summer before I went in 5th grade or maybe 6th. I’m 74 now. It’s good to know just how much you both can take as far as driving, steps, etc. I could never have done those steps. That was a very pretty cabin. The floors were beautiful. Every room was great. So thankful God blessed you with a safe, restful, getaway and brought you home safely. Also thankful Gerald was doing well. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
Thanks very much Vikki. You bring back some wonderful memories to us. Yes, when we go to Pigeon Forge we go through Townsend. We've never got a cabin in Townsend but I think that Kim and Jonathan have a couple of times. I'm glad that we were able to get the cabin next to the river because that was our entertainment. The drive and the steps combined was about all that we could handle. We wanted to go walking down the main street but if we had it would have been to much and it would have made our trip home worse. Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.
So glad yall got to get away and enjoy some time together. A change of scenery is always a good refresher of the spirit. Blessings to yall!

What a fun and spontaneous trip. Sometimes, just a change of scenery and eating a few things you don't normally get to eat are some of the best vacations. Especially when you can snack on a coke, m & ms, and kettle chips sounds pretty good to me.

I live 4 miles from Helen . My late husband and I moved up here in 2002. I love living up here folks are so nice. My only complaint is the blacks bears love my trash 🙂 so glad you had a good time up here. ❤️

I visited Helen Ga. Several years ago with a friend . Helen was designed to look like an Alpine village… very pretty! We did the river tubing. It was really fun. You rent the tubes but you have to purchase the wooden sticks to guide and maneuver your tube around in the river. We got pretty wet (especially our backsides lol). We ate at a German restaurant. The food was excellent! Glad you enjoyed you stay.🙂👍

Hey Calvin and Marie so glad you both are doing better and able to take this trip, It’s been several years since I have been to Helen it’s a lovely little village, travel as often as you can my husband and I have been having some health issues and it’s not easy when you want to do things but can’t pray we will feel better soon, love your videos you are such a blessing to me❤❤

My daughter and her family moved to Georgia 2 years ago. I just was there for a visit in March. We went to Helen GA. For the day. My grandchildren want me to come back down and go tubing with them. My husband and I used to travel a lot. But he passed away 6 years ago. I wish I had someone to travel with. Please enjoy each other as much as you can.

I have been to Helen, many years ago.I loved the shops and the German food was fantastic!! I hoped you tried some of the delicious German cuisine. At least a homemade pretzel ❤ we decided we will go there this year for Octoberfest. Thanks for the video. 😊
