- Bourbon Street Six (Dick Gail, Bill Kelsey, Jimmy Haislip, Buddy Jackson, Bob Coquille, leader Roy Liberto): "We taught Betsy Palmer to play the drums this afternoon." They had earlier tried to teach Henry before having to change their secret. They perform "Muskrat Ramble" with Betsy.
As if I needed a reason to love Betsy Palmer more than I already did! What a gal!
The smile on Betsy’s face as she was playing just shows the joy of playing music.
I love Betsy. Watched her as a child. When I was 15 she came to my town to perform in the musical South Pacific. My music teacher took us to the dress rehearsal. I met her and got her autograph. She gave the class tickets to a Saturday matinee of the show. A wonderful memory I cherish from 1968.
Betsy Palmer was just precious!
Betsy Palmer is so cute and such a charming good sport.
Robert Coquille was my grandpa! Amazing!
How cool!!
Brilliant 😃
Wow! You're probably too young to have known him?
@@terratrac I was young when he passed and only remember his funeral. My cousin remembers being snuck into the bars to listen to him play!
Love the hipster in the shades. Betsy is so game and so charming!
As a former professional drummer myself, I enjoyed watching Betsy Palmer "beat those skins". Her performance reminds me of the IGAS episode where guest Arlene Francis played a trombone that she needed to do for a play she was about to appear in.. Search for it. It is hilarious.
Betsy was so freakin' cute!
i got 1ne thing say her drumming woooooooooooooooooow
Yeah
What memories this brings back to me~ It's a shame that good music like this has gone to the wayside. Roy Liberto, you were one of a kind and will never be forgotten!
This show is a year older than me! Betsy is a great sport indeed; she sounded good!! RIP TO ALL THE DEPARTED💞
that was a heap o' fun...whatta good sport she was! :-D
Betsy was more than a cute woman she was a talented actress. And her playing shows she was a quick learner. She also appeared to enjoy the drums. So many of these secrets made up by Mr Sherman(the producer)involving the panelists turn out to be real duds but this was one of the best.
So glad to see this...Roy Liberto was my dad's first cousin.
You got kin down below.
Jason Voorhees mom is very lovely
Wow👀
You have to love Betsy
Impressive- what a Trooper!!!
Hey, Bill Kelsey is my dad! Thanks for posting!
Jimmy is my brother.
Buddy is my Aunt.
Betsy is my daughter .
Fantastic job !
Betsy Palmer 1926-2015
@ClassicShowbiz Great interview! I was especially charmed by the part where she seemed to wonder how you would know who Frank Sutton was. Like you wouldn't know!
Many people might remember Betsy from the Friday the 13th movies.
She is just having so much fun.
I may be repeating the obvious here but those cats are most definitely hip.
It’s amazing what you can do by just smoking a pack of Winston cigarettes.
Well, they taste good much like a cigarette should.
That smile...
Jayne looks so much like Audrey in this episode 😮
And sounds like her too.
Jason's mom on drums
I know cigarettes are bad, but that Winston display on the desk looks 🔥
What a babe.
Roy liberto is the leader of the band and he is my grandpas cousin so I decided to take after cousin Roy and play the trumpet since it is in my blood as a Italian
You got kin up above.
Some people just don’t have a sense of rhythm. That is a fact
She obviously was musically adept. Didn’t she play an instrument with the Sally Ann tambourine band one Christmas?
Roy Liberto is my great uncle
Can smell the smoke from the screen.
So cute
This was filmed exactly 23 years before I was born :)
It was filmed exactly three days before I was born.
It was filmed 3.5 years AFTER I was born. 😋
This was filmed 16 years after I was born...Betsy Palmer was a talented actress that I saw in " South Pacific" ⭐⭐🎵🎵🎵♥️♥️♥️🦋🦋
Ms. Palmer played the drums wearing a skirt ! I wonder if Karen Carpenter saw this as a young girl ?
I bet she was genuinely nice person
Jimmy hayslip is my dad
Oddly, there is something "familiar" about that song. Even MORE odd was a memory from the 1960's ("if you can remember the 60's, you never experienced the 60's") that overlapped in this video. I never knew that the song that I knew was derived from *_Muskrat Ramble_* from well before.

Interesting, Arlo Guthrie used this tune for his Anti Vietnam Nam song in the 1970s.
Country Joe and the Fish...? I was pretty stoned, but I remember that it was their song.
@@HugoHugunin It was Country Joe and the Fish (As "I Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag"). Kid Ory's tried to sue the band for copyright infringement twice, lost and had to pay Joe's legal fees.
Of course, everyone's complimenting Betsy. But having watched a lot of him, I see Henry Morgan is embarrassed & jealous.
I think it’s terrible that Gary Moore had to smoke all through the program. That what killed him.
Betsy did a great job for only 2 hours practicing.
I am utterly disgusted that Gary Moore sits there on every episode and let’s his cigarette smolder!
Does the host HAVE to smoke his cigarette throughout the show? I don't care what year it is, it doesn't look professional!
+Laura Stone
Yes, the host did have to smoke as often as possible because the sponsor demanded he do so.
Mike Dudley Awww....that never crossed my mind. But he probably was still a smoke hound.
+Laura Stone He definitely smoked off-stage. In another episode they brought his office on stage and he pointed out the ashtray.
then don't watch. simple enough
Laura Stone Yeah, it's not in color either. Your heart must be broken. IT WAS ANOTHER TIME!!! GET OVER IT!!!
I love Betsy and Dorothy on what's my line.
That's Arlene francis. I don't remember Betsy ever paneling on what's My line.
@@TheBigMclargehuge ... Betsy here and D and AF on line.
Should have used a comma.
And Jane is great too.
So cute
