+Alice Jean, Good morning, I love these hymns. They bring back many wonderful memories. My Aunt Aileen would play the piano at my Grandmothers and we would all sing. We all gathered after church on Sunday for dinner. I am happy that the music blesses you also. I still work part time as a receptionist for a wonderful Christian School and I play this music everyday in the lobby. I think it blesses everyone that enters our doors, I know it blesses me.

John Troutman At 1:45 this morning, my mom took her last breath in her earthly body. I had the honor of holding her hand for the past days as she prepared for her new body without pain, and in the final moment when she went to her new home. Now it's finished, and myself and all those people who have had the gift of sharing in her life, can take what precious treasures from her spirit that she shared with us, and be blessed in life as I am. She was an angel in every sense and I was and am blessed and I am forever grateful that in all the universe, God in his infinite grace and wisdom, made her my mother and gave to me this lady as my mom. Thank you again for this beautiful music which I played throughout her final hours in her preparation to hear Heaven's Grand Piano play as she arrived.

My mother died when I was 9 but this reminds of laying my head in her lap during church. I would play with her necklace and watch her hold the hymnal and sing all these songs. The Holy Spirit moves so beautifully through each song. I will use this to sleep by. Thank you :)

Very few modern song lyrics can compare to the words of the great hyms. There are several reasons for this: hymn writers were much more Biblically literate and more well-read in general than today's generation. Their lyrics didn't sound like they took 5 minutes to write because they probably put more thought and revision into them than the songs we hear today. Also, many of the hymn writers were also the great pastors and theologians in church history. They have left us a powerful legacy.
I cannot tell you what a blessing it was to find this 'concert' of many of the hymns that I was raised on and that I was able to grow spiritually on. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing this wonderful, CHRIST-centered music. The transitions between each hymn were nice to listen to as well. You could feel HIS presence in each piece. Oh how I miss this type of music in today's church programs. Too many younger folks have poo-pood the hymns as old and out dated and THAT couldn't be further from the truth. These hymns are filled with so much spiritual food. Again, thank you and may GOD bless you for sharing this.
From boyhood until I left to study for the ministry, my mom and I would take the bus or our old Pontiac (if it ran) across town Wednesday evenings for prayer meeting. I was a much smaller group than Sunday, but hard-core warriors of faith. Singing, testimonies, teaching finally gave way to kneeling around the front to pray about half an hour while someone played the same hymns in the same style you do. I recall tears and getting prayed over by godly men. Mom and I didn't say much on the way home. I continue to love Jesus, John. Thanks for obeying and sharing your gift.
I shall forever remember this music compilation, as I played it on my phone in the hospital. While my great grandmother passed on to a better place, with her wonderful creator. I please ask that you never take this down, as it is truly a beacon of peaceful and somewhat sad memories, for me.

I am sitting at my table crocheting and listening to this wonderful music. I am a pianist and a vocalist. I have such a different view of hymns. I love the hymns and sang them all when I was a child. These songs have kept me faithful to God for all my years...some of those years were really bad, but I never forgot the words to these songs. Jesus is all the world to me.
I am listening to this while I am preparing for my first exam tomorrow. It is so relaxing and a privilege to hear the annointing of god through music as I am studying. Thank you Jesus ! Glory!

This is one of my favorite "music" videos to listen to on TH-cam. I am studying to be a pastor at a fundamental independent Baptist college(Pensacola Christian College), and I have been more exposed to hymns and the richness of theology that is found in the lyrics. I gained an interest and appreciation of hymns, when I was a junior in high school. My Southern Baptist church is somewhat more contemporary in worship, but we still use the hymns, during the services. Hymns have also helped me in my Christian walk, as I study God's Word and rely on His faithfulness and truth. May God bless us all and help us to praise and glorify His perfect and holy name. Amen.
This music is great John. I believe you are the pianist that played at Hamricks at Christmas Time in Gaffney, SC. I always visited the place with my wife. She shopped and I always sit and listened to the live piano music. We always talked to each other for a while. Remember meeting your little boy and he signed the cassette I bought. I believe he was about 8 or 9 years old. My wife and I always reminisce and talk about you when we go to Hamrick's at Christmas time now. In this hectic fast paced world this is what I need to hear to go back, go back to when my life was more full, with less stuff. Too many things to distract us from our time with God alone. Such peaceful music ....I remember attending church with my grandmother....thinking when is this over Grammie? Now, I play it remembering her and hoping it never ends. My wife and I are the table now I'm pretending to play the piano as she laughs at the antics of a 65 year old kid. I'm practicing for God's Holy orchestra. Not one tune will be sour, they will all be sweet to those who are there to play and hear it.

I'm willing to bet that 1000+ of these views are from me doing homework. This is my go to list when I need to concentrate... as a senior in college it can be quite difficult to want to do homework, maintain the focus to do so. Your music take me back to a time when life was much simpler. I miss those days when people were more caring and the community was a family. I live in Austin, Tx .and have found a church that teaches the Bible and sings these songs. It is twenty-five miles away but well worth the trip. Each of these Hymns is a mini sermon, and I so appreciate and thank you for the peace and comfor they bring.

In this hectic fast paced world this is what I need to hear to go back, go back to when my life was more full, with less stuff. Too many things to distract us from our time with God alone. Such peaceful music ....I remember attending church with my grandmother....thinking when is this over Grammie? Now, I play it remembering her and hoping it never ends. My wife and I are the table now I'm pretending to play the piano as she laughs at the antics of a 65 year old kid. I'm practicing for God's Holy orchestra. Not one tune will be sour, they will all be sweet to those who are there to play and hear it.

I'm willing to bet that 1000+ of these views are from me doing homework. This is my go to list when I need to concentrate... as a senior in college it can be quite difficult to want to do homework, maintain the focus to do so. Furthermore, this is uplifting and I find myself singing hymns throughout the day. Nice to not have to worry what subliminal messages are going into my mind as I study. Good stuff! Thank you! :)

Thank you so much for these beautiful renditions of the old favorites. My eldest brother who went home to Jesus blessed us on his piano with these beautiful hymns. Its so very sad that the modern day church has distanced its self from these God given inspirational hymns.

Your music take me back to a time when life was much simpler. I miss those days when people were more caring and the community was a family. I live in Austin, Tx .and have found a church that teaches the Bible and sings these songs. It is twenty-five miles away but well worth the trip. Each of these Hymns is a mini sermon, and I so appreciate and thank you for the peace and comfor they bring.

Perhaps listening to piano music will take your mind off of the pain for a few moments since you are no longer able to play yourself which probably was good therapy when you were physically able. John Troutman I am so thankful that you put this up! I am 12 but, enjoy these selections. My older siblings and family don't know what I am going through but, whenever I am depressed these songs get me through it....Thank You O_O
Prayers for you.....one of richest memories is of my grandmother....Helped her do laundry for a very large family.....this was during WW2....somewhat like our times now......she had 3 sons in the military, ......she had a very old fashion wash machine, had to heat the water on an old fashion machine. And
She sang many of the old hymns, and that has been a wonderful gift to me........

At some point,Its important that we realize that our faith must grow, will grow in God. This happens when we stay connected to the vine. There is progress in God. If our faith is not growing, we are the problem.
