This method is fantastic for videos with small duration. However, for videos like movies and drama series, you will have to wait hours for the conversion.

I did convert some short .VOB to MP4. It worked well. And I donated. But for a really long .VOB video, the picture and sound quality are both very bad. Besides, it does not a noticeable indicator to when it is finished. I really hope we can get a better one soon.
tried VLC, sometimes it worked, sometimes the file was damaged (either no sound, or no video, or both). last time i've used restore.media online and was fairly satisfied
I underestimated VLC. Thanks! I thought I could do it without a tutorial and so I missed the part where I should rename the file and put .mp4. I also didn't know that the black video VLC was "playing" after I hit start is already the conversion taking place. (I didn't read the title of the file.) Thanks again!

Sometimes I use VLC to convert my torrent movies for playback, but the converted files have no sound.So I prefer a professional video converter,like handbrake,pavtube,etc.
this is an older video, so could be no one is finding this anymore, but just beware. The first link I clicked on to download was not the one you show, and I ended up downloading a scam, and it included a Trojan, which thankfully was caught by my Mccafe. I have used this in the past with no problem, but make sure you get the right one.
McCafe's are delicious but sucks when you find a Trojan in one :x

Knowing that VLC can convert many different formats really saves time and duplication of programs like you said.

That is because you're pressing play as soon as it starts converting. You need to wait for it to finish. at the bottom of VLC, it says "streaming". Wait till that finishes, and you're all set.
You should download HandBrake for converting videos for free I convert all my videos in HandBrake and it works well for me for many years now 🙂✌️.

I have Vob Files to convert. I did as you instructed however, I have a number of files in my video folder so I selected them all and saved. After a couple of minutes the video I had chosen to cover showed up in destination folder as Vlc Files (mp4) - when I tap on it to play it - nothing happens
Hi, ok I have a question or 2. In that converter box from a file can you put more than thing in it? For example; if I saved pages on my microsoft word from pages of a manga and then saved it in a file and I wanted to upload it on my VLC player to play all the pages can that be done? I know how to do one at a time but I would like to to do it like reading the manga and maybe even add music.
Awesome ....Took me apox 10mins to convert 240mb .264 file the whole time it said ( 0 %) left LOL .You just have to know the thing will do it. You just have give it a few. When its done it gives a POP up about buying it an opens a window with the converted file. Moved it over an uninstalled with no problems 07-06-2020

I have a 11 minute vob file. After carrying out your instructions, I get a 11 minute .mp4 file, however, the elapsed time stops at 11 seconds, though the video goes on till 11 minutes. What's worse, when I upload this .mp4 file to youtube, it actually stops at 11 seconds. FED UP :( please can you help. What am I doing wrong? what profile type are you using ( Video- H.264+ MP# (MP4)?
I notice this works perfect for MKV files which I recorded on OBS with multiple audio tracks, but not for MTS files from my JVC camera. I guess it's a file compatibility issue, but if anyone has had a similar issue and knows a fix, then please let me know. Thanks.

May I know that where is the option that allow to change the "mono" stereo mode to "left" stereo mode before converting the video. I am asking this question coz I everytime my video produced are automatically with "Mono" Stereo Mode.

I use iDealshare VideoGo to convert between various video formats, audio formats, convert video to audio format.
Step 1: Click Add File button to add the video files.
Step 2: Click Profile drop down button to select desired video or audio format from General Video or General Audio cagetory.
Step 3: Click Convert button to start and finish conversion.
