1:23:54 Such an amazing moment, telling the woman that finished two places behind you how proud you are of her. That's the definition of sportsmanship.
You all probably dont care but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Kyler Messiah thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
It's going to be exciting how the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials will go! Since Meb Keflezighi and Abdi are more than likely retiring, there will be more opportunities for others to step up. I know it's WAY too early to be predicting the top three right now but if I were to choose it would be: Ryan Hall, Ryan Vail, and Dathan Ritzenhein.
screw that guy. This is excellent quality, all considered. I'd been wanting to watch this. I don't know why they didn't just stream the damn thing live. Thank you for uploading!
Sub 3 is a really, really good time; but keep in mind these guys and gals are putting up mid 2:0X and 2:2X. What I do know is you keep training and working at it you will be far, far faster than you ever imagined possible. Definitely a process though, good runners are not formed over weeks, months, or even years.
* ...You know what?.........Somehow, I KNEW he was going to WIN First Place ( even BEFORE the START of the race) !!! ; ) As soon as he was in view, he just had this amazing positive confidence & great determination, that really stood out! His extremely confident attitude, is a big part of why he WON this day!! ~
This will be me in 2016 and I am going to start running marathons with hansons running shop and I know the coaches very well they gave my a plane ticket to London for the 2012 games. RIO DE JANEIRO IS MY GOAL!!!!!!!
meb won a silver back in 04, but marathon landscape has changed a lot these few years. I mean you have to beat like 7 or 8 sub 2:07 african and moroccan runners just to get on the podium....this is insane
I have mixed feelings about Ritz . . . I met him at the US XC Championships, and he seemed like kind of a cold person; he wasn't as friendly as Chris Derrick and Bobby Mack. Still, can't help but feel bad for the guy, not making the Olympic team by a few meters.
I feel awful for Ritz, he's my favorite, but at the same time I'm kind of relieved he didn't make the marathon team. I hope he makes the 5k where he'll do better and also has a shot at medaling.
Yes, I will spend money to provide you with a better free product next time. I apologize. Honestly, the quality is good enough and beggars can't be choosers....I don't see any other full race videos of the Olympic Trials Marathon out there. Glad I can please the 28k other people.
To me I feel like the USs only chance might come down to Meb...not just becasue he won this one, but he's had more experince agaisnt some of the international comp.
Hey, do you know where's the 2016 USA Olympic Marathon Trials? I can't find it in your account and I think it must have been deleted. I hope you can bring it back here. I enjoy watching it a lot.
i meet him at an invite in maryland i felt the exact opposite, its probably depends on the time you catch him at, and that goes for most famous athletes
Hi, do you perhaps have the 2016 trials as well? Thanks for this upload. Edit: I see it has been removed. Maybe you could upload it to Dailymotion or Vimeo?
It makes so little difference, especially in a marathon. The winner of the 400 meter dash in the Olympics had her hair down (not even in a pony tail) lol.
Yeah it's really impressive ain't it?! The amount of training they do is unreal though. At least 120 miles a week for most I recon, my legs and most people's legs would be useless after 1 week of that.
It's not to protect the race, it's to support the military. Houston likes to promote and support military troops so they request them to be present at public events.
He doesn't try hard enough...lol wut? You seriously think his weaker performances recently were because he didn't try hard enough?! Please tell me that isn't actually what you think...
Hall almost always tried to run to his potential. Taking out all those qualifiers that had no real chance at actually winning the thing right away. Sad to see that only the very top of the elite marathoners on the mens side run this way (Kipchoge, Kipsang) and others just look for placing and are content to sit and run a pedestrian first half. Just look at the Chicago Marathon this year with Braune leading for almost an hour. Come on Aaron Braune are you kidding me. Disgraceful.
AFter what happened with the year Prefontain was in the Games, you can never be to careful with the men and woman that are representing the USA in London and at the Trials
Robert Harrington Ritz placed 9th in the Marathon in Athens. He dropped out of the 10k in Sydney, but admittedly was just there for the experience. He had a nagging stress fracture and limped home in the last place at the trials…However, he was the only other runner to have the Olympic Standard so he went.
This was so emotional to watch 11 years later. So emotional at the finish line. My heart hurts for Ritz, though. They all worked so hard.
I teared up a little when I saw Ritz getting emotional. :(
OMG! I watched the whole thing! An hour and 25 minutes of sitting in my bed watching a Marathon on my phone!!!!
"Get rid of the pretenders" really? All of those women ran Olympic marathon trials qualifying times and I'm pretty sure none of them are pretenders.
agreed it takes insane dedication to get to that level.
I'm a grown damn man shedding tears watching a youtube video. Awesome stuff.
This is classic. I love Meb so much. So much respect for these top women runners too.
Thanks for putting this up!
Really inspiring for us amateurs, unbelievable pace these elites can keep up.
1:23:54 Such an amazing moment, telling the woman that finished two places behind you how proud you are of her. That's the definition of sportsmanship.
How amazing that these guys can run under 5 minutes a mile for 26 miles. These guys are incredible athletes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You all probably dont care but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account??

@Levi Trevor Instablaster ;)
@Kyler Messiah thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm.

@Kyler Messiah It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out !
@Levi Trevor You are welcome :)
thank you for uploading this man, being looking for this shit for a while by now...
Meb got 4th in the Olympic, Ryan and Abdul both got a DNF

thanks for the upload!! I really wanted to watch it but don't have cable then couldn't find it, then forgot about it. Can't wait for the olympics!
RIP Ryan Hall's career. I may be wrong, but I think this was the last great race by him.
Even watching the whole thing a second time its just as suspenseful
screw that guy. This is excellent quality, all considered. I'd been wanting to watch this. I don't know why they didn't just stream the damn thing live. Thank you for uploading!
the definition of sportsmanship is when merga gave wanjiru his drinking bottle during the 2008 olympic marathon
well today I ran a 4:49 mile... and to think these men can run that pace for 26 times that (or about 5 seconds slower/ mile) is absolutely amazing.
Muchísimas Gracias Juan Jose!
Feel bad for Ritz. He ran a good race.
I love the trio of Desi, Shalane, and Kara. I wish that Shalane and Kara were still training partners.
Still my go to video, watching Meb run

thanks a ton I really wanted to catch this for awhile
This will be me in 2016 and I am going to start running marathons with hansons running shop and I know the coaches very well they gave my a plane ticket to London for the 2012 games. RIO DE JANEIRO IS MY GOAL!!!!!!!
parabéns!!uma corrida emocionante!!!!!
Thank you for posting this!!!
@omar R as of this race--that was in 2012, she had it. As of 2014, Huddle has the record for the 5k.
"5:35 on her third mile" .....I ran that in one mile in track during high school and thought it was a decent time
Serious dude, thanks for uploading this.
thank you so much for posting this in full......very cool...***
The last five minutes were epic 🎉
meb won a silver back in 04, but marathon landscape has changed a lot these few years. I mean you have to beat like 7 or 8 sub 2:07 african and moroccan runners just to get on the podium....this is insane

Ryan Hall helped Abdi at 43:58. Class act.
lol Hall stepped on his heel right before that though..
I feel awful for Ritz, he's my favorite, but at the same time I'm kind of relieved he didn't make the marathon team. I hope he makes the 5k where he'll do better and also has a shot at medaling.

I can imagine that feeling , Ritz
Lol. The top pack of guys are talking to each other and laughing during the race. Awesome!
So inspirational
when flanagan was coming into the home stretch, the PA announcer called her the AR holder at 5k and 10k....isnt huddle the holder in the 5k...
Any chance you upload the 2016 trials again?
Thanks for posting!
This is great, I run 10k at the pace that they run a MARATHON
i feel bad for the runners that placed 4th. i can only dream that i can be in a marathon one day!
such a great race ! never expected that result, but everyone knows that the statistics are never the same as the outcome ^_^
Dammit! I put Ryan Hall and Ritz on the Olympic Team for sure. I feel so bad for Ritz
Thanks for posting
yeah we have long run in pratice that are up to 12 miles
The ending with the girls made me cry
Excellent...
looking at them makes me tired haha
To me I feel like the USs only chance might come down to Meb...not just becasue he won this one, but he's had more experince agaisnt some of the international comp.

Wow oh my gosh cant believe i watch it till the end
Thanks.
thank you!
Lets go Ryan and MEBi!! Let's beat those Keyans/Ethopian runners for once! :D
Hi, do you perhaps have the 2016 trials as well? Thanks for this upload.
Edit: I see it has been removed. Maybe you could upload it to Dailymotion or Vimeo?
Where's Yiannis Kouros? He is an authority is ultra running, he is the one that can actually talk about marathons and mid distance running.
53:00 a Canadian runner's life - Running + Hockey
I'm at 56 minutes and still watching!
he does it all the time
It makes so little difference, especially in a marathon. The winner of the 400 meter dash in the Olympics had her hair down (not even in a pony tail) lol.
desiree's Beast...GO DAVILA!!!
feel so bad for dathan...but hey thats the beauty of racing
Two guys straight off the no-fly list straight on the plane to Beijing for USA
So Ryan Hall is Native American?
Poor Ritz :( What a tough race.
Did the fourth ladies finisher qualify?
Yeah it's really impressive ain't it?! The amount of training they do is unreal though. At least 120 miles a week for most I recon, my legs and most people's legs would be useless after 1 week of that.
At this speed, it is only for special people and even more so for the qualifiers.
When they said that Abdirahman was running 5:52 pace, I am pretty certain they meant 4:52 pace, right?
Yes.
Marathon 2007
I am watching this for the second time...
Go Abdirackman!
ive been looking for USA swimming olympic trial footage, anyone know where I can see it?
They were talking about her right hamstring injury so the cameraman wanted to show that I guess.
Good luck.
VERY IMPORTANT: Marathon coverage available LIVE on my page
they run the same loop more than once
The longest TH-cam video that I've viewed.
They're running almost as fast as my 5k pace.....
i noticed that too

announcers barely said a word when Abdi popped
Ditto
Lots of compression gear!
the women started 15 mins after the men, whose are those women running along side the top men?
There seems to be something wrong with that statement. There's no way anyone could be running their third mile, or finished running it, in 5:35.
AFter what happened with the year Prefontain was in the Games, you can never be to careful with the men and woman that are representing the USA in London and at the Trials
If you are complaining about the quality of this video.. You need to get off youtube and just watch T.V
4:10 Arciniaga's shoes :)
Hey, have you seen White-European dominated South African lately?
And Ryan Hall and Abdi BOTH QUIT during the olympic race......ritzenhein and others should have gone to london, ritz deserved it..
Maybe, but Ritz dropped out of the 10k in Athens. So who knows who's going to drop out and who isn't? That's why we have the races.
