I don't really re-read either (much). Only ones i have was stuff i read 15-20 years ago and most of those i re-read in its original english language, so still felt kind of new. (Read them first as a translated danish edition)
I think, you get other vibe /feelng for a book, when you read it where it plays in /written. I have the same thing when I've read Nygårdshaug:Some of his books were placed in the Røros rgion, where I lived for 5years...😄
Enjoy the festival Øystein. It looks like quite a line up. Some great bands, Janes Addiction, The Breeders and Gaslight Anthem amongst them, a few of my faves. Much better than Glastonbury these days. Cheers!🍻
Thanks, I will! Never seen Janes Addiction, so that could be interesting. I have always wanted to go to Glastonbury but I unfortunately feel a lot of festivals have more similar lineups now than before.I hope it changes but I doubt it will.
I don't really go to festivals, but it still was interesting to think about the experience and what books to bring along. I guess Daisy Jones and the Six could be a good one too -- I wasn't really my cup of tea, but so many people seem to love it. In nonfiction, maybe This Is What It Sounds Like, which I've been meaning to read for months! I don't re-read much either, and that has a bad side effect that I tend to "save" some books that I think I might really like or that I feel like I might need to really sink into them to get the most out of them... If I re-read more, I'd probably be less "picky" in the sense that I would think "it's ok if I don't remember much of this book or read it too fast or am a bit distracted while reading it -- I can always re-read it later if I want". Don't know if it's just a me-thing or if it makes sense to others as well... Anyway, I hope you have a great time at the festival!
Daisy Jones has been recommended to me a couple of times. Actually tried starting it a couple of months ago, but could no really get into it. This is what it sounds like seems like an interesting read! I have a book on my kindle called "Your brain of art" maybe that´s a bit similiar, at least that is a also a book I have been meaning to get to.. The "saving" you´re referring to is way to relatable.. I have always envied rereaders because it just seems like they are enjoying reading more. I have many times almost reread books I have loved and then read books I will never pick up again. Should probably have reread instead.
@@becomingabookworm About Daisy Jones - I'm not sure I would read a novel-length interview with a band I actually like, so a band that doesn't even exist?? That was not for me. But I've only heard of people loving this book, so I'm wondering what I missed ^^' Glad to know the 'saving' thing is not just me! I feel less alone in my odd reading quirks :)
I could see myself reading it, but haven´t felt the urge yet. I don´t think I have read any books about fictional band so far, but I have seen some movies and that can be a lot of fun. I realized today that I have 3 unread Taylor Jenkins Reid books in my shelf, feels like I should try one of her books again soon..
Hah, at the very start, I just KNEW you would mention Roskilde, by Linn Strømsborg. Such a great book! You are should read OK, en til, by her. Anansi Boys is a spinoff. 😉 I have for some odd reason only read it once, shortly after it came out.
Haha, yes, a very apecific book that one 😅 I have her other ones on my list. I have considered reading both anansi boys and good omens again, but I think I will continue with the books I haven’t read from him first.
I thought I was the only one who didn’t re-read books! Glad I’m not alone!! 😉
I also get that feeling sometimes..

Cool thanks, your Murakami choice seems somehow appropriate for festival reading, it is pretty fantastical. I wanna read Just Kids.
Great! Looking forward to getting to know another one of his more famous stories! And please do read Just Kids, it’s an absolutely beautiful book.

I think you are right. It surely helps being familiar with the surroundings :)

@@becomingabookworm She's one of my favourite Norwegian authors for sure!
So many books...
