- hi, it’s been a while. ❤️ i wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude + apologize for my unintentional 4-year long hiatus from youtube. after 6 years of being a part of this incredible community, i realized i needed a break to recharge and find myself again.
during my time away, i focused on paying attention to life offline, enjoying my college experience to its fullest, and exploring new career paths in startups, tech, and venture capital. i fell in love, traveled the world, and invested deeply in my friendships with people that i adore. it was an enriching journey, but something always felt like it was missing - youtube.
honestly, facing the weight of strangers' opinions and dealing with hate became overwhelming, especially as someone who grew up as a teenager on the internet. i spent most of my adolescence with a shattered self-esteem from being picked apart online and reading mean comments. it took a long time for me to move past it all and understand that what others said or thought about me wasn’t necessarily true and that i didn’t always need to defend or provide an explanation for everything. many of you probably remember me as someone with an attitude that can only be best described as “idgaf” - i came to learn this was a defense mechanism for me not to feel too hurt while existing as a person on the internet. i took a step back to protect my well-being and take care of my mental health, but i never stopped missing the joy of creating videos and the incredible outlet youtube provides.
now, with renewed excitement + passion, i'm so happy to announce that i'm back. this time, i'm committed to making more cooking/baking content, sharing things i love, and connecting with all of you on a deeper level. i’m also excited that there’s no more pressure from management or treating youtube as an income stream. i want to enjoy this hobby and create video content that feels authentic and fun to me, hoping it resonates with a few of you.
i'm incredibly grateful to each one of you for sticking around, sending me kind messages, and supporting me even during my absence. your love and encouragement mean the world to me, and i can't wait to get back into creating content for you.
