actually skylab9000 was a cut chapter that had some things that diamos kept such as the song and water pipes and some locations it may be called skylab9000 in the PC but the Xbox 360 version and PS3 version have it called diamos

Technology got better, but in my opinion developers got worse. You still see things like this, but when it comes to gameplay, i feel it lacking in most newer games..
@@lordtarkus3444 To be honest. We don't see things like these. Graphics got better but the artstyle did not. Even the games that don't try to be realistic don't have absolutely ridiculous and over the top enviroments like these. The new Doom games are probably the only exception i can think off. Everything is just more... normal now. And i hate it.
@@Aryzon13 I completely agree with you, back then there were so many more wild scenarios that made the mind spin, now it's all grounded. For alot of games that's great like a realistic army sim, or a realistic shooter, but most of the games that come out that look like this dont intend to be realistic in any fashion, they just see what is successful and go to copy it, i share your perspective, everything is kinda dull in terms of environment now in games, but where i really see a big dip in is gameplay, alot of games are huge cashgrabs and it's all just lost its soul to me, developers dont make games because they want to make games, they do it for money. And thats okay, people need to put food on there plates, but they blew it so far out of proportion that now its all just one big cashgrab, they go in a game and ask themselves "how much money can we squeeze from this fanbase' and not "how can we make a good game." maybe someday this'll change, but who knows...
