    Be careful with ice and fur. Let it thaw out instead of breaking or pulling it out. Mess up your hard earned fur if ya get to rough on him.

    Personally, I only wear gloves if I have to go elbow deep or better, or when I'm making canine sets, I've found they bother me more than cold fingers do, but slightly less than wet sleeves do lol

    I urself round file to make trap set solid because in manufacturing the medal dogs they are punched out and not machined

    I trapped with a friend of mine back in the early seventies, musk rats mainly. Used my shed to skin and stretch. Caught one mink. That was probably the worst smelling animal I've ever smelled.

    If you have wet animals try rubbing them around in the snow it drys them off quicker

    Did you make your mink baskets?

    • @tinkertime3849
      @tinkertime3849 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      baskets? you mean boxes yes I sized them to fit the 110 an 120s that I had. I was going to make a video never got to it during trapping season. the wire is 1x1 mesh and most farm supply sells the cage building supplies. I guess I need to do a video lol.

      Yes boxes but yours seem to be like cage style ? Almost like a colony trap modified into a mink box? Just curious how you made them.

      @@MegaRapfiend I bought 1x1in wire from the farm supply then set a 120 to see how big I needed it. can't remember what the measurements were but you can pause the video and count I believe it's like 6x6. there's special pliers and clips for making cages they were also at the farm supply. I only put clips on the top of the back piece so they would be able to collapse after season. so like a flip up door. when in use I used a pice of wire or zip tie to hold the door closed and keep its shape. look at volkers trapping supply they had something similar but had round stock support where the springs slid in. good luck and happy trapping.
