Great form! I have a way to go before I get to this kata. I'm only doing Pinan Shodan now but I see some similarities in waza. One thing I'm struggling with is when to breath during my kata. I tend to hold my breath. In shorter ones, I don't feel it but once I start getting to longer ones like this, I'm going to pass out before the end....things to work on...great stuff Daniel!
This is now 10 years old and I’m not happy with it in a lot of ways! I no longer practice this version of Kushanku but it’s nice to look back at a stage in the journey, I’m glad you enjoyed it though
Graded for my 1st dan today at 11 years old, and kata was a reallly big percentege, heres a tip for breathing, every 3 moves take a deep breath and then 2 moves later release. Its a great method trust me :)
I learnt a lot from this video and I am 2nd Dan..When one gets to Dan grade, the journey is just beginning!
excelllent KUSHANKU!

Do you do Naihanchi? 😊 If yes, could you make a video on it? 🙏
A begginers breakdown of Kushanku (and Naihanchi) would be much appreciated as well. 🥋
I do, and I plan on releasing some of bunkai from a recent seminar I did. I may look to do a kata breakdown in the near future.
@@DanielPyatt Wonderful, keep up the good work mate! 💪 Hopefully I will be able to attend a seminar, or host one, in the future. 🔮🥋
@@stefansandbergsweden thank you and you are always welcome. If you ever want to host one just let me know.
In wado ryu it is performed with Front kicks, in Shotokan they perform it using side kicks.
Cool. I see a bit of Pinan Yondan in there. That's what I'm learning at my current rank
Thank you for your kind comment.
I AM STILL NOT SURE IF THIS IS PERFORMED WITH SIDE KICKS OR SIDE FRONT SNAP KICKS?
AGAIN ANOTHER DIFFERENT VERSION AT THE END!
