    Dude! This video was great! Helped me find a loose ribbon cable that just had to be clicked in and my phone worked again! Your wonderful step by step instructions gave me the confidence to go at the job.

    You're the man. I couldn't have found out how to replace it by myself. I've done it easy as pie thanks to you. Thank you so much.

    Just did this.. it takes 8 screws and no need to remove the charging port. In my case the battery was swollen so I did not need to see half of this video about removing the back cover :)

      @kamrannagi3044 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man, my cover came off too because of the swollen battery. Could you please tell me how did you replace your battery. I'm a complete novice.

    • @obelixer9751
      @obelixer9751 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@kamrannagi3044 you can use the second half of the video. I used some old plastic cards to lift the battery out but this is crazy wel glued in place. Be careful of the ribbon connector that goes over the battery, if your afraid of ripping it you better follow the video guide and remove the lower part as well. After removing the battery it started to boil again by itself so be careful!! Toss it outside or is a salt bath and dispose of as chemical waste.

    Worked perfectly, was a little bit hard to actually take out the battery cause I only had a hair dryer, but at the end everything worked just fine.

    Did you have to apply new adhesive to the phone to close it? it doesn't show you did, but other videos show adhesive being reapplied

    You are lucky. I tried. There is a plastic film under the glass that came apart, then the glass broke. I wish they would still use good old-fashioned screws to open it for a simple task as changing the battery.

    Thanks for this Video! It encouraged me to replace the battery myself. And yep I succeeded! The biggest challenge was to open the back cover because I only had a hair dryer and did not dare to make the lid really hot.

      @@3picninjaboy The adhesive and plastic will start to desintegrate, most plastics never boil, they burn before. Additionally electronics in phones are not made to withstand temperatures this high, like the flash which should never ever be heated above 60°C or else it may loose data or just die

    Thanks for this video. I was able to replace my swollen battery, the second time this happened on two different make. I think Huawei has a battery swelling problem.
    Just a suggestion, you may like to include a count of the screws required to be removed from the bottom charging port and the top, motherboard.

  • @thinkingaboutit2738

    Why did you remove the copper colored LCD flex cable? Doesn't look like it impedes the removal of the battery at all. Just for safety since it looks like it's attached to the motherboard?

    First of all get a new sticker. Last step is always to stick back panel PROPERLY back because of 2 reasons. 1st if you are just taking back back panel like this it is even falling off after a certain time 2. handset is definitely not waterproof any more this way which is one of the advantages of the phone

    Purposely make things unfriendly to make job opportunity for phone shop.

    • @theycallmekowalski
      @theycallmekowalski 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They make it so hard because THEY DON"T WANT YOU to be able to replace the battery and make your phone last another year or two. THEY WANT YOU to buy a new fucking phone. Try finding a smartphone with a removable battery nowadays. They dont want your stuff to last. They want you spending money.

    • @pawelw.9172
      @pawelw.9172 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@theycallmekowalski this is not a manufacturers' exploit though, it is about the market. Stupid people want their phones to be slim but the next day they they will buy a thick silicone case because slim doesnt hold well in hand as well as the need for additional protection. However, for the design to be slim, the manufacturers are forced to use adhesive tapes instead of metal casings and screws etc which would otherwise thicken the phone no more than a silicone case. Remember when iphone released their first slim aspect ratio screen (18:9), people got so crazy about it that every manufacturer followed virtually killing the better 16:9 in every respect in a very short time. It is not always manufacturers fault... the mate 10 pro is a still good example of the above trend which people discarded though the manufacturers would have prefered to keep it out for I suppose economic reasons - I mean, a mini jack port - once they realised the lack of it hits the sales charts, the jack port returned where it should be in newer models - so again - people decided.
