  • It’s been designed for people to climb on and sit in to get a real sense of what it might have been like to be in Bomber Command during the Second World War. For the man who built it, this replica Lancaster Bomber has been a labour of love.

"Whether she was still in the land of the living."
I'm sooo glad to know that someone else in this works speaks that way about airplanes.
I used similar choice of words to describe the unfortunately fated Nine-O-Nine.
Im glad someone else feels the same way about planes as i do.
Bless this man and bless his father.

What a guy .The planet needs more men like you .Coupled with the fact that future generations can touch and feel the replica and maybe think about how many lads flew and died horribly from flak and exploding cannon bullets but pushed on with the shitty job and every single man was a volunteer.I tip my hat to you sir. What a guy.

I am only one of many out here who recognise your dedication to this endeavour 'to your dream and only one of many who would like to shake you by the hand what you have accomplished so far is nothing less than amazing.
You have the British fighting spirit Martin and what you and yours have overcome to see this grand old lady come together is truly inspiring, from the bottom of my heart I'd just like to say 'well done Martin, you're bringing life to a dream not many get to accomplish that feat and by doing so your helping keep history alive, your father would be very proud very proud indeed ... as are we ;)

There must be some words to describe what Martin has done -- single handed -- but I can't think of any, except perhaps unimaginable courage, determination, and an indomitable spirit to see it through come what may.
If there was such a thing as a Victoria Cross for attainment regardless of the cost to life, limb, wellbeing, will to succeed, and financial (in)security, he richly deserves such a medal AND Bar!

What a great guy..well great family as well. A unique way to honor his father as well as maintain that wonderful connection they shared togather restoreing the original lanc but at the same time he is honoring the entire "greatest generation" that sacrificed so very much to ensure our freedom. It would have been so easy to make that deal with the devil Hitler offered, and therr were many many in the UK who not only wanted that but who were also secret Nazis themselves or at the least Nazi sympathizers..even a good number of the Royal Family even. So it would have been Far easier for Churchill...but thankfully he was made of that really rare stro g stuff inside and stood up even though at the time almost everyone truely thought there was no way to stop the looming German invasion and subsequent victory. But until then Chirchill committed to tge fight after then as well for that matter but tge rest is great history and people like this sacrificeing so much to hinor it them and his father are great! Who knows maybe a kid sitting in the pilots seat will be inspired and then want to be a pilot and fly airplanes, explore space, maybe even be one of the first Humans to step foot on another world..mars perhaps or maybe even somwthing we cant concieve of yet..all inspired because a single man builds a replica Lancaster WW2 Heavy Bomber for people to experiance.
I hope people leave tons of donations and cash thank you tokens so this man didnt have to sacrifice his retirement or his families financial legacy in doing this for his countrymen and women...
