Taylor Swift isn't just a singer. She's a cultural reset, a lifestyle, the oxygen you breathe, an escape from this cruel world filled with thieves, an art, the first gift you open on holidays, a hug from a loved one, and everything you’ve ever wanted.
This album is a lyrical masterpiece. She tells great stories, and they're so relatable. Whenever I feel upset, her songs always make me happy, even tho they are sad songs. Especially this song is my therapy. It doesn't mean you are a freak when you go away and run and whatever. You sometimes have to let it go and leave it behind. You don't have to act to be loved by others. Just be who you are, and don't let others affect you. You don't always have to stay just because you have known them for a long time and don't want to hurt them like they hurt you. It couldn't have been explained and written better. Thanks Taylor, for the amazing songs and lyrics
so ridiculously uplifting. it's so true...sometimes we know a relationship/friendship isn't working and it's just better to accept it and "give up" than try and repair it which may lead to making things worse. this verse makes me teary. usually "giving up, running, and walking out" is considered negative but sometimes it really is the best thing. "Sometimes giving up is the strong thing Sometimes to run is the brave thing Sometimes walking out is the one thing That will find you the right thing"
I like how both evermore bonus tracks oppose one another. “right where you left me” is about someone not moving on and staying, while “it’s time to go” is about moving on and leaving.
@@TheAlfredPlatform Haven't read into it very deeply but I believe she was angry because she wasn't offered a price. *sobbing* This song made me realize that some people in a workplace can be cruel. When you’ve done something extra mile, it’s very rare to get acknowledged, but then when you’ve done one mistake, it felt like it’s the end of the world.
I got some bad exam results today. Those lockdowns really were rough. My whole life I've placed a lot of expectations on myself - building my identity around my success. I wrote in my journal this morning: "I don't how to decide what the brave thing is. Does it make me strong or weak to pluck up, cut the shit and push through a career in STEM? Because it is difficult, but also familiar. Or do I do the things I actually love at the risk of feeling like I never lived up to my potential? Or worse, realizing I never really had any special potential at all? Why do I feel like I have to choose between feeling unhappy or feeling weak? How can I be brave when I don't even know what the right decision is?" And then I listened to this song for the first time. "Sometimes giving up is the strong thing. Sometimes to run is the brave thing. Sometimes walking out is the one thing, that will find you the right thing." I burst into tears. Word for word, she had answered my questions. Taylor, thank you.
Whatever you decide, go with your gut and soul. Working in Engineering for my whole life, I know just how difficult it can be. I now wonder what I need to do to make me happy and loving my life each and everyday. If it brings you joy, then do it. If it doesn't, find your bliss and live the life of your dreams. It's out there; but only you know what that is. I wish you well in your adventures. May your life be joyous and wonderful always 💟
I am in a similar situation. Pursued studies in STEM and did not realize until my final year that this is not what I want to do. I pushed myself to the point where not only was I not getting the results I wanted but I was neglecting my self-care. The most important thing to do is to listen to yourself. Whatever you decide, pursue what you enjoy even if it may scare you. I wish you the best!
I love how her music always perfectly matches the lyrics . Like the end of this song sounds like someone leaving . I can imagine someone driving away from an abusive relationship and finding themselves again .

HEAR ME OUT!!! In "right where you left me", Taylor is singing about still sitting "at the restaurant." And in "it's time to go" she starts the song with "when the dinner gets cold...you ask for the tab." Which means that now she is LEAVING the restaurant and letting go of the past. She's a genius 😭🔥
This sounds like a sequel to tolerate it, with the line "I gave it my all, he gave me nothing at all then wondered why I left". This sounds like Taylor made her decision that she was debating in the end of tolerate it, "break free and leave us in ruins/ took this dagger in me and removed it/ gain the weight of you and lose it/ believe me, I could do it". She left him after all.
Well, yes, i love that point of view, but if we take into account that she said 15 years with him and that she begged him we can definitely link the song to the SB guy-rat. She was almost 15 years in BMR after all, and she had to beg for her old records ownership.

"Sometimes giving up is the strong thing
Sometimes to run is the brave thing
Sometimes walking out is the one thing

sounds like her departure from her previous label was quite traumatic for her. Pure poetry
she lost the ability to earn back the rights to her previous albums because she refused to sign with them again :')
@@capp12249 i thought they offered her a price to buy her masters but she refused to buy it??
@@TheAlfredPlatform Haven't read into it very deeply but I believe she was angry because she wasn't offered a price. She was given the chance to "earn back" an album at a time by signing with them again, and she refused because she knew the second she did she'd be an asset and they'd sell the label/her future.
So she left.
@@TheAlfredPlatform Borschetta never specifically said he gave her a chance to buy it back; he said "I gave her every chance in the world to own her music" followed by "but she chose to leave", which insinuates that choosing to stay was the option he gave for her to own her music. How can I be brave when I don't even know what the right decision is?"
And then I listened to this song for the first time.
"Sometimes giving up is the strong thing.
Sometimes to run is the brave thing.
Sometimes walking out is the one thing,
that will find you the right thing."
I burst into tears.
@@klshull316 I am going to study engineering in college. What field are you in?
I am in a similar situation. Pursued studies in STEM and did not realize until my final year that this is not what I want to do. I pushed myself to the point where not only was I not getting the results I wanted but I was neglecting my self-care. The most important thing to do is to listen to yourself. Whatever you decide, pursue what you enjoy even if it may scare you. I wish you the best!

exactly what i think. theres one popular reactioner i watch called zachary cambell and for some reason he doesnt like taylor swift. he keeps saying its because he doesnt connect with her music and i just think how when you connect with so many other different music and everyone else. he then brings up "you need to calm down youre being too loud" and "spelling is fun" calling her music abc, 123. that really annoyed me how a big influential youtuber music lover like him can not connect to taylors music plus has nerve to call it abc. none of her pop music was abc. then when he said he liked folklore and evermore, he put it down at the same time saying it made him fall asleep. he always adds jabs and put downs when it comes to taylor. and it saddens me how so many people would love taylors music if thier favourite artists sang taylors exact same songs.

That prove she was not in fact what she seemed

Fifteen years, fifteen million tears
Begging 'til my knees bled
I gave it my all, he gave me nothing at all
Then wondered why I left
Now he sits on his throne in his palace of bones
Praying to his greed
He's got my past frozen behind glass

my theory is that esme is the singer of tolerate it
This sounds like a sequel to tolerate it, with the line "I gave it my all, he gave me nothing at all then wondered why I left". This sounds like Taylor made her decision that she was debating in the end of tolerate it, "break free and leave us in ruins/ took this dagger in me and removed it/ gain the weight of you and lose it/ believe me, I could do it". She left him after all.
Wow, you're right, both songs are amazing
RIGHT OMG
Ooh I like this theory
Well, yes, i love that point of view, but if we take into account that she said 15 years with him and that she begged him we can definitely link the song to the SB guy-rat. She was almost 15 years in BMR after all, and she had to beg for her old records ownership.
