Getting to play as everyone who’s ever been directly controllable in a Dissidia style KH game would be incredible , especially if they also made characters like Ansem, Vanitas, Young Xehanort, etc. playable. I’ve even been wracking my head for what the combat for Union Cross’s player character would be like, even if it was more for a secret boss than a playable fighter. Like maybe they’d cycle through their various keyblades depending on the attack, but after a while, they’d start using the upgraded versions of said keyblades.

If anything, Xion looks weaker at some points. Roxas can just go in and attack, do a Reversal, dash back out, jump back in with his teleport and continue attacking. He makes Xion look slow and predictable in comparison.

In many ways this looks like Xion if she ended up stealing all of Roxas’s power, she’s dashing around with event Horizon every which way and has a more varied move set, but Roxas looks and acts supremely more confidently in his skills and abilities, he utilizes the same combos and only one elemental spell, but his special abilities are full of more energy than any of her one attacks.
Damn this fight felt more canon the the Sora vs Xion one that was originally implemented. It just feels more impactful when Roxas and Xion battle knowing that they were friends in Days
This looks so good. Now that I see them fighting against each other, this seems like it was suppose to happen. Like Roxas move set is strong and fast enough to keep up with Xion.
kh3 and Sekiro are the only 2 games I've ever played where it feels like you're actually BATTLING the boss, not just hitting them and dodging attacks (even though that's all that's happening)
Devil May Cry is pretty good at this feeing too. The key is making sure the bosses have extra hidden openings an aggressive player can take advantage of.
I love how *even* this fight looks! Roxas looks like an actual boss-level character, and this duel feels like there's a lot of weight behind it. When playing as Sora, it constantly feels like constantly you're an inch away from death in base form, interspersed with a few seconds of god mode forms. Honestly, I prefer playing as Roxas due to his more consistent power.
Imagine instead of Xion just deciding "well guess I'm joining the good guys after Sora's talk-no-jutsu" Roxas came back and had to jog Xions memories in this arena (fitting for her data-puppet persona) before she returned to fight Saix
Would've loved to see the dialogue between Roxas and Xion fighting again. Just Roxas desperately trying to reason with Xion with the only second chance he'll get. Heck put Axel as the party member too. I swear people are going to create so many headcanons with these mods. The main story felt so incomplete when 90% of it focused on Sora and it couldnt be bothered to give the others screentime or much story relevance.

Xion's journey to agency was already complete when she died, what more does she (thematically) have to prove by fighting her friends again? Honestly, it's not just that it was incomplete, KH3's writing direction as a _whole_ sucked, and Roxas and Xion should've played more fitting, fleshed out, and inclusive roles throughout the story if we were ever to get proper culminations to their arcs (there were so many things and people they needed to get closure with, but one was turned into this vague moving goal post who got no actual development himself, while the other was forced to replay the same arc she already gone through in Days). I wish the modders had the ability to create some truly unique story fights, but I get that that's basically impossible in games like this. :(

all of Xion's, Data Sora's, KH3D Sora and Ventus' light/holy/faith moveset is based off of KH2 Roxas' fight In days, Xion and Roxas also share the same Limit Break (Event Horizon), the Final Limit ver. of that is used as a finisher in KH3's Sora's Light Form (Translated as Black Hole)

@@gablink5190 yes Holy was in CoM, but it didn't resemble how Roxas' particular style of Light attacks which was the base of how every other Light magic associated with the Soras would look like going forward. In GBA, it was just a generic column of Light while the Re:CoM version was based off of Sora's reaction command with Minnie in KH2.
This is awesome Roxas is my favorite character in the series and seeing him fight another character I love is impressive and this is cool to see. A bit jarring but I got over it quickly
I need more playable Roxas in the KH series. Also Roxas is my favorite to play but I wish that they added a shotlock for Roxas where his laser power appears or something like that.
No matter how often I watch this, it'll never not be the most incredible thing to watch. It's the fight we deserved to get in KH3, be it as a data battle or even as part of the story. Like, I know it probably would have broken up the pacing to hell and back, but just imagine the kbg scene we already have of Roxas reaching out to Xion with tears in his eyes (through Sora), even managing to call out her name in his own voice and then we cut to this battle on either Roxas's or Xion's heart platform. Afterwards the scene resumes like normal with Xion breaking down with the return of her heart and memories from Roxas's heart and the arrival of the tactical air strike that is Roxas, protecting Xion from getting finished off by Xemnas. Integrating that fight there would have been incredible (I still love what we got, but of course I would have loved to get even more ^^). Ok, maybe I didn't need to write out the whole scene to make my point, but I just love retelling that scene in my own words way too much ^^
Funny and Ironic that Xion calls him Sora (I know Roxas was modded over Sora), considering Roxas' arc in II was to accept he's Sora and believe that he(himself) will find the answer to his dilemma on if he has a heart "Believe in the me that believes in you" sort of deal. Only for Sora to believe he and Roxas aren't the same despite they are considering their two halves(Heart and Body) that make the whole and believes Roxas deserves to live his life how he wants not connected to him (which in showed Sora's empathy as a human).
Now that's something I was wanting to see for a while. Thank you. Got to find a way to replace his keyblades with two kingdom keys so he is fighting her with the appropriate weapons.

i noticed that both kairi and roxas got water magic. i LOVE using water because of the the shell around you casting gives. really saved me in alot of the data fights
Emotional, yes. But it wouldn't really make sense, in order for Roxas to return, he needed a connection, a connection he wouldn't have without Xion. So until she remembered who she was, Roxas wasn't coming back.

They should've expanded upon Sora having to lose his heart to return Roxas since not only could that have given time for the other heroes to shine, but it would've allowed time for Roxas to get focus since there's just no point in undoing his well written ending in 2 if you're not gonna add anything new to his character that isn't just fanservice. it has to be fanservice with a point to it. Hence why not focusing at all on Roxas and Ven's similar appearances was a terrible move since that could've been used to expand on both Roxas(To expand on his personal issues and feeling of lacking his own personality) and Xemnas(By expanding more on his relation to Aqua and Ven and why he's had a fixation on Roxas for a long time).
@@thekillercritic3616 I have to disagree I'm afraid. Even if there was a way to bring Roxas back before the fight, it could lead to a lot of problems. For example, let's say Sora does give his heart to Darkness and became a Heartless and Nobody again, well that Nobody wouldn't be Roxas, Roxas was created when Sora stabbed himself at Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, and he looks like that because Ventus's heart was inside Sora's, he's basically Sora and Ven's Nobody, but during KH3, Ventus's heart wasn't the only one in Sora's heart, Xion's heart and even Roxas's heart itself were inside Sora's as well. So Sora's new Nobody wouldn't be Roxas, it would be something else entirely, and THAT would cause problems, ones that would derail the story entirely. Roxas also does have something new to his character, it's his own success, throughout KH2 and 358/2 Days, Roxas didn't succeed at anything unless he was told to do it, everything he did on his own failed. He couldn't free Kingdom Hearts or have his own life, but now in Kingdom Hearts 3 (specifically Remind), Roxas accomplishes something for himself, he defeats his superior and retrieves something for himself. He now makes his own decisions and no one is gonna stop him. Introducing Roxas early on would've been cool, but it wouldn't make much sense and would probably feel like fanservice even more. Also the Roxas Ventus thing, come on, they've seen and been through far weirder, it was literally the end of the world when they met, I don't think they really cared why they look the same, and Ventus wouldn't make Roxas feel like he had no personality, if anything it would make it more obvious he does have a personality, because he is nothing like the person he looks like. Finally, Xemnas didn't care about Roxas because he looked like Ventus, it was simply because he was a potential candidate for the Real Organisation XIII, Young Xehanort said it himself.
Ahh yes, the Roxas vs Xion battle that should've been. I wanted it to culminate into a fight like this instead of the giant armored Xion on the final phase.
If there's a single thing that KH3 confirmed, it's that Roxas could wipe every keyblade wielder in a one-on-one. I mean, look how overpowered his moveset is.

Funny and Ironic that Xion calls him Sora (I know Roxas was modded over Sora), considering Roxas' arc in II was to accept he's Sora and believe that he(himself) will find the answer to his dilemma on if he has a heart "Believe in the me that believes in you" sort of deal.
Only for Sora to believe he and Roxas aren't the same despite they are considering their two halves(Heart and Body) that make the whole and believes Roxas deserves to live his life how he wants not connected to him (which in showed Sora's empathy as a human).
Now that's something I was wanting to see for a while. Thank you.
Got to find a way to replace his keyblades with two kingdom keys so he is fighting her with the appropriate weapons.

It felt this way with Sora too, but this fight with Xion really feels like a spar and a show of power rather than to the death like the others

i noticed that both kairi and roxas got water magic. i LOVE using water because of the the shell around you casting gives. really saved me in alot of the data fights

Emotional, yes. But it wouldn't really make sense, in order for Roxas to return, he needed a connection, a connection he wouldn't have without Xion. So until she remembered who she was, Roxas wasn't coming back.
@@nathanevans1382 But Roxas being brought back THAT late in the game was already a bad move. They should've expanded upon Sora having to lose his heart to return Roxas since not only could that have given time for the other heroes to shine, but it would've allowed time for Roxas to get focus since there's just no point in undoing his well written ending in 2 if you're not gonna add anything new to his character that isn't just fanservice. it has to be fanservice with a point to it. Hence why not focusing at all on Roxas and Ven's similar appearances was a terrible move since that could've been used to expand on both Roxas(To expand on his personal issues and feeling of lacking his own personality) and Xemnas(By expanding more on his relation to Aqua and Ven and why he's had a fixation on Roxas for a long time).
@@thekillercritic3616 I have to disagree I'm afraid. Even if there was a way to bring Roxas back before the fight, it could lead to a lot of problems. For example, let's say Sora does give his heart to Darkness and became a Heartless and Nobody again, well that Nobody wouldn't be Roxas, Roxas was created when Sora stabbed himself at Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, and he looks like that because Ventus's heart was inside Sora's, he's basically Sora and Ven's Nobody, but during KH3, Ventus's heart wasn't the only one in Sora's heart, Xion's heart and even Roxas's heart itself were inside Sora's as well. So Sora's new Nobody wouldn't be Roxas, it would be something else entirely, and THAT would cause problems, ones that would derail the story entirely. Roxas also does have something new to his character, it's his own success, throughout KH2 and 358/2 Days, Roxas didn't succeed at anything unless he was told to do it, everything he did on his own failed. He couldn't free Kingdom Hearts or have his own life, but now in Kingdom Hearts 3 (specifically Remind), Roxas accomplishes something for himself, he defeats his superior and retrieves something for himself. He now makes his own decisions and no one is gonna stop him. Introducing Roxas early on would've been cool, but it wouldn't make much sense and would probably feel like fanservice even more. Also the Roxas Ventus thing, come on, they've seen and been through far weirder, it was literally the end of the world when they met, I don't think they really cared why they look the same, and Ventus wouldn't make Roxas feel like he had no personality, if anything it would make it more obvious he does have a personality, because he is nothing like the person he looks like. Finally, Xemnas didn't care about Roxas because he looked like Ventus, it was simply because he was a potential candidate for the Real Organisation XIII, Young Xehanort said it himself.
