This is such a timely explanation for me. I have been a professional gardener for 12 years and have become despondent at my status in my Australian community. I do enjoy gardening but not the low and inconsistent earnings and being dirty and hot at the end. I can use this concept to reframe my thoughts to bring back my previous joy 🙏🙏🙏
This modern life is busily structured beyond what humans evolved to enjoy or even endure. Mindfulness has been my goal this fall as well. The enjoyment of the everyday. Thanks kitaro for the support.
Perhaps "Silver Lining" as in "There's always a silver lining (in every cloud)" is the closes we have to Komorebi in English. Thank you for bringing this movie to my attention!
For me, Kitaro, your self-help videos are the best. I particularly liked the travelling and the boring life videos and watched them several times. This one will be added to that list. Interesting to note "Komorobi" I wasn't aware of the word previously but have often enjoyed light ,shadows etc..
Really a wonderful film. Thank you for the japanese background and insights, Kitaro. Another detail I liked was the awesome, beautiful and unique architecture of all shown public toilet buildings, that really exist in Tokyo parks.
I've noticed my self coming from this point of view more and more in my life. Your video gives me some kind of reassurance. And your videos are so well crafted and beautiful. Thank you for taking so much time and thoughtfulness to make them for us.
Keeping the yin and yang low energy and balanced makes mindfulness easy. When the light and dark are out of balance and have too much energy, we are thrown off balance, unable to see the light for the dark, or the dark for the light. When we stop and calm ourselves we put the light and dark back in balance. ☯️🙏
Allow me to add a pointless comment, but since we're talking about Wim Wenders : his movie Falsche Bewegung starts in a little town, and he mentioned in an interview the town is called Glückstadt, and with such a lovely name they couldn't not shoot the start of the story there. Since that town was right near Hamburg where I was living for a few months in 2009, we went to visit with my girlfriend. It was a simple town with nothing special, but the very fact of being there following the trail of the movie shot there because of a lovely name, it all made for a simple excellent day. Not any great lesson or anything, except "oh hey this would be a simple fun thing to do" and it was. So yay Wim Wenders.
Maybe someone finds my experience with mindfulness interesting. Would be happy to discuss :-) I have meditated for quite some time (maybe daily for 1,5 years with about 5 days where I didn't per year). I found that I was mindful as a result of that and it helped a lot to come up with cool ideas for work after going for a 20-30 minute run + coffee afterwards (in the morning). However, I think being mindful also prevented me from getting into flow. Also, I was overly inhibited in my action - something I am anyways as a result of my personality and mobbing experiences. I definitely have profited from practising meditation and therefore being more mindful about some things. But I would not want to elevate my mindfulness level again by doing meditation daily. I thought about doing it like 1-2x per week, but otherwise just getting into flow. Note however, that I am per se already a pretty mindful person (I rarely act directly on impulses)

watching this video while eating when he say about stacking tasks
Thank you, Kitaro. This helped me a lot.
Agreed. I saw it in cinema last year (?) and it was so lovely. I had a couple pleasant teary moments.
