Can't wait to see the calcite ammonites prepped! They should be stunning 🤩
Fingers crossed for some more great finds. 🤞 Happy holiday, Dan. 🙂

Nice finds 👍 I didn't really find anything as good as your ammonites at Charmouth when I went but I did find a fair bit at Burton Bradstock. If you've not been I'd recommend it. There's a great variety of ammonites as well as gastropods, bivalves, sea urchins, sponges, nautiloids etc

Will you do a video showing how you prep them? Really interested to learn :)

Nice to see a new location 👍🏼 ive seen amazing ammonite slabs from charmouth but seems like they are super rare

They’re not too rare. There just hasn’t been any storms in quite some time so it’s really hard work to find the good stuff unfortunately

That walk from Charmouth to golden cap is a killer on the shingle. Not much to see in the middle bit either. Better to do seatown for goldencap. Looks like some interesting finds on your first beach though. Seatown was stripped when i went and you could see the belemnite marls with the odd squished lipo. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip

Oh yes 😂. That last section to golden cap doesn’t put out much so there’s never much point in going any further! Iow was definitely the winner. Wish I’d have stayed they longer instead!

Nice! We were at Charmouth last weekend, only found fragments, but didn’t expect much on a bank holiday! In the past we’ve had some luck scrambling between between beaches on a falling tides, but we couldn’t do that now we have a little’un.

It’s certainly hard work there at the moment. Was speaking with some friends who live there and there’s been no storms or big tides to wash anything out. Really hard going!

@@WhitbyFossils1 You did pretty well considering, we had 6 feet of pebbles thrown up on the beach to contend with, but I did find an echinoid there in the past so kept an eye (no luck). I did find a piece of flint arrow head (no tip), beautifully worked, last year we were at Seatown after the big cliff collapse and found an ice age bone, possibly deer, maybe horse. Typical you go to the Jurassic coast and come back with ice age stuff!

@@WhitbyFossils1 We’re coming to Whitby for a break shortly. But will only be visiting the easily accessible beaches (toddler friendly), shame we can’t do Sandsend as we’ve filled a bag there before now, so prob Whitby and Robins Hoods Bay (where I found a piece of dinosaur bone), they’re on the cards. Little’un likes to collect pebbles, so maybe she bag a few fossils too!

@@rebeccalucysmith9689 we are going to Runswick Bay soon. It’s one of the beaches I can get on because I am scared of heights. I managed Saltwick Bay once but I don’t think I could bring my self to do it again. But it is quite easy access if you aren’t scared of heights. I’m not even going to attempt Sandsend after seeing videos. The Holderness Coast is better for me as the cliffs are much smaller

Immer nett deine Videos. Doch deine Kameraführung ist schlecht! Sehr schlecht. Waclelig und unruhig.
Schwer deinen sonst guten Videos zu verfolgen. Es wird einem übel dabei.
    Wackel wackel.
