    DADA is KING. Best three piece band ever. If you don't appreciate ALL of their albums, you just haven't listened enough. Seein' them live is amazing. How they missed being famous is beyond me. They're the Beatles of the 90's

    Dada and KING'S X are the. most unknown and underappreciated trios of the 90's

    Puzzle, American Highway Flower, El Subliminoso, Dada, How to Be Found=Best Albums Ever! Even though I don't have HtBF...
    And, yes, Mike Gurley is very underrated; to have Carpal Tunnel and still rip on the guitar like that takes SERIOUS talent!

    For what it's worth, I agree with you on just about every comment. I was only about 10 when I first heard Dada. I liked it then, and I have only grown to love it more and more. BUT I would say they definitely got themselves stuck in a mold and didn't really evolve with time. Puzzle is outstanding and I reallying enjoy their self-titled album... but the newer stuff for me is only enjoyable on a level that is refreshing compared to the current music scene. I'd still lend an ear to Dada any day.

    Funny story, saw them here in VA. Beach 15/20 years ago. This song was hot and they didn't play it! I lost my bro to an overdose last year but we were both like blasting the band members that were signing T-shirts after the concert and we were like, why didn't you play Dorina?! They kind of put us off and we were dumbfounded. To this day I would have liked to know why but oh well I can watch it here thanks to TH-cam! My favorite is Dim and they did play that and it was awesome. Sorry about my rant but I now feel complete, thanks for the video!

    This guy has the best strat tone I've ever heard. Love 'em and I am not a fan of Fender guitars. This is one of the most underrated bands ever.

      Agree. I am a Gibson guy, but it may be the best tone on a Fender I have ever heard. Great band!

    dont forget the 4th, the ballad of earl grey and chamomile rivals anything they have done. thats saying alot as almost all songs from the prior 3 are super rad.

    I'm embarassed to say this was the first song I heard from these guys when I walked into my coworker's office WAY after the 90's. I was blown away by the guitar player's super clean Strat sound and killer fucking solos. This is a great band and I wish they came to some of the better clubs in NYC or Northern NJ. How about Mexicali Blues in Teaneck boys??I love listening to their CDs, especially while driving.

    While I may come across as an egotistical my intentions in posting this are purely out of regret.....I tried to reunite these genius musicians back in the summer & fall of 1999 after first hearing them at the Brighton bar in Brighton NJ in june ('99).....I failed.....I then tried again to be their "business & marketing consultant" when "butterfly Jones" album was released by vanguard..... I failed them again.....
    Not a day goes by that I d not regret "what could have been"....not a day goes by when im not listening and getting lost in their 4 main albums as Dada (puzzle, AUG, so subliminoso, dada4), dada live vol.1, and butterfly jones napalm springs.....and not a day goes by that I am not successfully introducing another person to their brilliant work and another fan is born...
    Ive stayed in the shadows lamenting about the road not travelled with the echo of the immortal John Lennon:
    "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans"

      Bruce Weinberg I agree with you that the studio albums were damn good, showing much potential, but seeing the band perform live here, I don't get the impression they're having much fun. They're just doing their stuff; OK, but without the punch of the studio album, looking grumpy like irritated Neil Youngs, and they just don't manage to bring the spark from the studio work over to the public. I know I can't judge a whole band and a whole career on just one vid, so I'll watch the other ones, but - let's remain objective here - this one here certainly isn't very promising.

      I just heard the studio version...and it almost brought tears to my eyes, great punchy leads and vocals so I came here expecting the live version to blow me away...He seems kinda drugged out or something, almost bored and not focused. Anyone hearing this for the first time, definitely check out the studio version

    With pleasure! I no longer believe they should be stripped of their title, but they still fall pathetically short of living up to the moniker of the greatest movement in art that will ever exist. Maybe they came up with their name unaware of the real dada, and that would be fine. Their music isn't bad, it's just not at all dada.

  • @levelwitme
    @levelwitme 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was probably too vague with my comment. I love ZZ Top, And didn't mean to attack their abilty to jam. I was looking at the musical arrangements as a whole. Dada has more complex arrangements than ZZ. Either way both bands put out alot of sound for three guys.

    any fan of true dada will have nothing nice to say about this band. They should be forcibly stripped of their misnomer!

      In other news, The Rolling Stones, are not actually round and made of stone. The band Cream can not be put in your coffee. And you would be wise not to try and take a bite out of the band Cake.

  • @dadaops
    @dadaops 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, I never said they needed to write songs about the movement. They just disappoint me in not being more absurdist or experimental and others share that disappointment when discovering them.
    That being said, I'm glad they have given others moving and meaningful art.
