What really gets to me is that Cinderella's voice actress had Alzheimer's disease later on and forgot she voiced Cinderella or even worked with disney but the nurses that took care of her always played this for her she loved it

I really hate when people diss on the old, traditional princesses! Cinderella is one of the bravest I know! Her story in inspiring!
I think she is brave but definitely not one of the bravest.
Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana were the bravest princesses. They not even save themselves they also save other people and the male character.

I understand, people always loved Cinderella and call her brave. Cinderella was always popular but I wouldn't call her one of the bravest princesses..
*Pocahontas* was the person who helped to reduce tensions between the Native Americans and the English colonists *!*
She saved the male protagonist and her people while constantly dealing with racism, ignorance, violence and hate speech.
*Mulan* saved her entire country and brought honor to her family, while she was *oppressed* by the men and their rules all the time.
*Tiana* ,well I don't have to say much about Tiana. She is one of the greatest character, and way more underappreciated than Cinderella.
Cinderella was brave, but her story wasn't so interesting for me.. It was mostly focused on a man and a shallow love story. It would be much more interesting if we could see more about her past etc.

as a victim of abuse, it's unsurprising that dreams were cinderella's refuge. I wish people remembered that when they complain about how she wasn't feminist or was waiting for a savior. She was abused! And she didn't even want the prince to begin with - all she wanted was a night of freedom.
I think she wanted a LIFE of freedom. I daresay her dream, her wish, was to marry the prince and live in the palace. Her dream came true at the end of the film.
People complain about how cinderella wasn't feminist when she was the kindest and most selfless disney princess despite her situation. Feminist doesn't have to mean rejecting traditional femininity. Also her movie is way more feminist than most Disney movies as it has a well written female protagonist, female antagonist, female side antagonists, and female side characters. The prince was more of an afterthought in Cinderella's mind. And not to mention that over half of the dialogue was women in Cinderella compared to the more "feminist" princess movies of the Disney rennasaince where on average women only got less than one forth of the total dialogue.

I've always loved Snow White and Cinderella but now that I'm older I love them even more. I hate when people criticize them for not having personality traits that they can learn from these particular princesses. I especially hate it when people call them weak. I wouldn't call someone who is abused, enslaved, and in Snow White's case, forced out of their home by their own family weak. They have inner strength which I think is more important than physical strength. To me, Cinderella and Snow White deserve their happily ever afters more than the other princesses.
To me, Cinderella is one of the bravest female heroines in movies and Disney. Now she didn't need to fight a war, or go ease racial tensions, but she was a victim of abuse. Despite all she had gone through, she was kind and a wonderful person, and she always believed in herself and her future.
The most beautiful thing about her is that she never let the cruel behaviour of her step family hurt her own perception of herself. She had self worth and believed that she can make it out with her head held high. An inspiration to people who come from abusive households or relationships.

For those who think only soldiers are brave, get your priorities straight. Kindness in the face of adversity takes more bravery than going to war. Mulan is amazing and my favorite, but there’s a reason Cinderella is the most popular.
What I love most about Cinderella is that nobody can make her stop believing in her dreams. Though She has a tough life she still believes that someday her life will change .She is so strong. Who else agree with me?

I truly feel even if she didn’t go the ball, she would have stayed kind to those around her. That’s why the animals love her so much. That’s real strength to me. To be loving to those around her-even though it’s so easy to become bitter and mean when people treat you unfairly. That’s real beauty in my eyes.

Her whole dream was one day with no abuse, the emotional abuse. She wanted just one night of happiness and to feel like a human being instead of feeling like nothing. The point of cinderella is not going out to find prince charming, its to keep on believing even in the darkest times because your wish will come true either someone will help you or a perfect opportunity will show it self to you. I will always see Cinderella as my favorite disney princess.

I grew up in an abusive household. I only left 1 year ago, i remember one day the lightbulb just hit and I suddenly realised my upbringing was not normal, but i journaled, healed, saw a therapist, and i even got a tattoo that said ‘ faith’ i knew i had to move out, i stayed as positive and optimistic as i could as i knew my soul needed this if i ever wanted to escape the house, now i’m older i look back and see how powerful cinderella is, she isn’t just a boring princess, she endured abuse and still managed to be kind humble calm and loving. a true princess

I always remembered Cinderella as a bland princess waiting for her prince charming, but when I rewatched it the other day I realized she has so much more personality than people give her credit for. She's kind, hardworking and slightly bossy... And Cinderella really isn't a story about love, isn't it ? It's more about good karma. The prince represents her reward for enduring such hardships with a smile and strength. She gets to marry into royalty, and for love to top it off !

Fairy Godmother was a symbol of hope and courage. While going through those hard times, which by the way, Ab*se, Both verbal and physical. Fairy Godmother was her ray of hope to leave that place!

Disney's favourite character was Cinderella - for the sole reason he admitted having to related a lot to her struggles and how she kept a brave face in the direst situation.
Kindness and patience are often traits which as you get older most people deem to be obvious and most tend to radically undervalue, with most people deeming 'fighting back' in the typical way being the more realistic and preferable option.
It's only as you get older though you realise there are some situations where you cannot fight back, at least not immediately, where sometimes you just have to sit the hard times out and clench onto the only thing you can control, that being that your good nature, your faith and belief in yourself and your abilities will be what one day will shine through.
It's only then as you get older you truly realise the profundity of Cinderella's strength. Sometimes just remaining kind and decent and not letting bad situations turn you bitter or lower you to your rival's levels is the greatest victory.

Cinderella was, is and always will stay my favorite Disney princess. There's none like her. She's the sweetest sweetheart.
I love how many songs from old Disney cartoons have an important meaning in our lives. Whenever I'm worried, I listen to Cinderella sing this song and my negative thoughts calm down
After the dress-tearing scene, a dissonant version of this theme plays, and I can only think of how Cinderella was still trying so hard to stay so positive, yet failing for the first time after such a traumatic experience. She actually sobs "it's no use, it's just no use" over and over, and probably thinking of the lyrics "no matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will...should...sniff"
And I love how though it did sound very somber and dark it led up to the arrival of the Fairy Godmother. Even at her lowest moment, there was hope.
I had so many situations like Cinderella in that scene but nobody helped me... Of course she will believe in something better if somebody helps her

When I say my favorite Disney Princess is Cinderella, they laugh at me. But this song is one of the reasons I love her so much. They don't know how hard animation was back when this was made in 1950, and this makes me appreciate it even more.

growing up, i realised cinderella wasn't a love story. yes, she found love, however that was her way to be finally free. don't forget she was kept there and treated poorly. she just wanted to be free and live her dreams, and she was SURE that would come true. then, she happened to fall in love, just like that. whether it were to have been a rich man or a poor man, she still would've fallen in love for him. it's not a simple love story. this is a story about hard work, patience, resilience, and freedom. thats why i find it beautiful.

I remember back in late 2020 I had graduated college in the middle of covid and was stuck working at a minimum wage sandwich shop in an attempt to make ends meet. I absolutely hated going to work every day. When I got my first check I cried because the pay was so low. I'd hum this song to myself while slicing sandwich meat. Then I got a job at a grocery store with twice the pay. THEN I got an EVEN BETTER JOB working from home as a customer service rep. Shoutout to Cinderella for keeping me sane when all I was dreaming of was a better job.

Why does everybody forget Cinderella was very sassy during the first movie, she was known for kindness, but yet she sass talk about her 2 step sisters and step mother behind her back then she was sassy towards the cat
Watching this movie really helped lift my spirits after my dad passed and my mom got sick. I love how she remains positive even in the worst situations. There's nothing she can do at that point but she decides to still be brave and not let the evils in her life weigh her down. That really spoke to me.

I just rewatched Cinderella after years from when I was a little girl, and it's so emotional and nostalgic. Cinderella is most definitely my favorite princess, thankyou Disney for the memories and happiness❤.
Also can I say that Cinderella is such a role model for anyone especially people going through a hard time at home, work, school, etc life.. she showed kindness and patience throughout the pain and abuse. I realized that a pure kindness like hers rarely exists anymore, which is why this movie hits so hard. She showed so much strength in herself and patience that I cant seem to comprehend. Keep dreaming, and if you have patience and determination, it'll come true💙

I just love Cinderella. In my life's most dark days I listen to this song and that gives me all the straight and hope I need to above the troubles with optimism.

We made "Wish Plants" today, in class, and we had to write down a wish that we had on a coffee filter. Then, we had to grow a plant in it, and when the plant was fully grown, it is said that the dream will come true. Everyone wanted to know at school what it was, but I said "Can't tell. no body will ever know how much of an impact cinderella has in my life. i use to watch the movie everyday when i was 5/6 and i’m 20 now and i always come back to this song 🤍 this movie truly raised me and gives me a bit of hope every once in a while
I’ve been suffering with severe depression for a year now and watching this makes me cry. So inspiring. If I keep believing, things will be better soon. I love Cinderella 💖

Modern remakes are forgotten soon after they are watched. The classics seem to get better with age.
Fun Fact: Illene Woods beat out about 309 different actresses that auditioned for the role of Cinderella, and she didn't even audition. As it turns out she was friends with the song writers, Mack David and Jerry Livingston, and they asked her to record the songs as a demo tape for Walt, but when he heard her sing he absolutely fell in love with her voice and said "I want her to be the voice of Cinderella."
