I hear you. Mozart has many things that bring to mind what Michelangelo said about his sculptures…”the work was always there. I just had to cut away the parts that didn’t belong.” Mozart often feels that way to me. Infinite and timeless.
@@scottwallace1 Lol, Mozart wrote the first two bars my dude. He s the name they printed on the paper, but the Music is absolutely NOT Mozart's. Curious how Mozart's best work is not actually his, lol. In fact his daddy was a top scammer, and it is very likely Mozart was a complete fabricated fraud over the work of dozens of other italian, french, german and austrian composers.
@@williamtaittinger4529 First off, Mozart did not write the first two bars. He wrote the first 8. admittedly it isn't much, but he came up with at the main melody and theme of it. It is absolutely his work, even if he only wrote the first minute and a half of it. Secondly, how can you call Mozart a fraud. Where are your sources? Where's you evidence? I think lacrimosa has something to do with the word lachrymose, which means extremely tragic. So take it as you want but the piece is supposed to invoke tragedy and tears.
Was lucky enough to have a masterclass with him at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Performed Rachmaninoff’s Elegie and he taught me so much about wrenching the most warmth and colour from the keys! Such a brilliant player!
This is romantic...This is really close to beethovens late works. I haven't heard much of mozart but ive heard most of beethoven. I guess the pain and regret made mozart to reach this point in his last composition, what beethoven had most, even though this was completed by someone else and its being played on piano, but still....
I love this piece of music, it's my favourite from Mozart. But this prestation, we can hear the orchestra and the voices singning. It's simply beautiful ! Amazing performance !
Only a heads-up for those looking for the sheet music. It's very similar to the Saltykov arrangement. Liszt's version is quite different, although some people mentioned it below.
Con tutto il meraviglioso repertorio pianistico negletto, sempre a suonare trascrizioni che se da un lato testimoniano un certo tipo di cultura, dall' altro traviano il sublime niveau classico di certi brani, come in questo caso di Mozart....
Please post more videos of this wonderful concert. I have been there and have been so moved bu his impressive, unforgotten performance of LIszt's Etudes and Scriabin's Sonata No.5
Many musicians transcribe an existing piece of music and strip it of its meaning so that you may (or may not) listen to its heart and soul. I think this young pianist did an excellent job in that regards.
Brings out the harmonic adventurousness better than the original. I had to go back to the choral version to verify that, yes, indeed, Mozart (and his student) really did write that.
Quite a flamboyant version- a little over the top for my taste. I like Maria Yudina's interpretation of a transcription made by Saltykov much better. But still a stunning piece of pianism
Everytime i hear it, it's like I'm being stabbed multiple times i want to cry as loud as i can and let everything get out of me this piece.. it's absolutely perfect.

True music don't know what the time mean
This is without a doubt the best version I've heard of Lacrimosa for the piano.
Same here
AGREED
He played it exactly how I wanted to hear it.
His interpretation is undoubtedly the best one on youtube. I wish it were recorded better, and louder!
@@matthewmicallef3811 The one from Kassia is better in my opinion

Wtf ?! It's the Lacrymosa part of a Requiem ...
Well it's not a piece and it makes me miserable personally

This is the best interpretation of Lacrimosa Ive ever heard. Thank you for this

actually Franz Xaver Süssmayr did it for you
You actually didn't, you died before you could.
Write more music no balls
Write it better
How much beauty in one piece, and the piano reveals it's true colors and textures.Great performance
This piece is beyond beautiful...Mozart beared the saddest part of his soul...and joy when the melody climed into happy major key portions.
Ahhhh Mozart. This an absolutely wonderful rendition. You can feel the pain in every note. Bravo 👏🏿
This so beautiful... the Piano transcription is excellent.
one of the greatest pieces of music ever written
