    After singing the praises and recommending every item I’ve used I was a little underwhelmed by these. Ordered the size 6, 7” pack. Tried four different brands and style of hooks before I finally found one that sat correctly and would actually fit over the doubled over section. (Korda Kaptor Choddy, Barbless) Then broke my “go too” baiting needle whilst trying to get a hook bead on as suggested in this video.
    Not over the moon with these.

      How is it a game changer? D rigs are so simple to tie, you can get 100m of fluro to tie hundreds of rigs for the price of 1 pack. You don't even get the hooks or swivel, it's simply a length of fluro, absolutely ridiculous, the cost to them making them is pence.

    Whats the advantage over a multi rig that is super simple to tie up?

    • @totalcarpmagazine
      @totalcarpmagazine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, multi rigs are simple to tie, I guess everyone has their own preference on rigs and the material being used. The use of the fused loop is stronger, neater and straighter than a conventional loop knot.

    What are the hook beads you used?

    • @totalcarpmagazine
      @totalcarpmagazine  ปีที่แล้ว

      These are Ridgemonkey hook beads, but most firm beads will work

    Don't get it, a D rig has to be one of the easiest rigs to tie, without the expense of the made up piece of fluro.

      Could be a good option for anglers who struggle to tie rigs. Also allows you to quickly change hooks without having to throw away the rig.

      @@totalcarpmagazine I can see that. I wouldn't put myself down as having much dexterity but it's so simple to tie I can't see where people can have a problem.

      Personally I tie all my own rigs, however, in the last year I have bought some of these and made my own to custom specs. The difference between these and tying your own is it's a multi rig style, just change hook a boom section will last you a season, my combi booms have and you can't argue with quality. So despite the initial outlay they're actually god value.

    • @totalcarpmagazine
      @totalcarpmagazine  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not pointless for anglers who struggle to tie rigs or those that want a super neat setup. At £3.99, it's not very expensive, especially considering you get three hooklinks which can be used over and over again.
