@@fahadalam8322 you should know very well that not everything is mentioned in the Quraan. That's why there is something called Hadith. And the Prophet's hadith about 12 Imams is very clear in Sunni books.
In Sahih Muslim, this same Tradition has been recorded in this way that Jabir says, “I heard the Prophet Say ‘Islam will always be dear until twelve caliphs and successors.” Then he said something which I did not understand. I asked my father and he said, ‘The Prophet said, “They are all from the Quraysh.” (Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-amanah, bab al-mal tih ‘1-quraysh)
Shaykh Sulayman Qanduzi, a famous Sunni scholar, in the book, Yanabi’ al-Muwarjdah says, “A Jewish man named Na’thal, went to the Prophet and among the questions he asked who would succeed him. The Prophet said, specifying them, “After me, ‘Ali ibn Abi Tahib and then my two Sons, Hasan and Husayn and after Husayn, nine Imams will follow from his children.”
      Revelation of Verse 5:67
On the 18th of Dhul-Hajjah, after completing his last pilgrimage (Hajjatul-Widaa), Prophet was leaving Mecca toward Medina, where he and the crowd of people reached to a place called Ghadir Khum (which is close to today's Juhfah). It was a place where people from different provinces should say Good bye to each other and take different routes for their home. In this place, the following verse was revealed : "O Apostle! Deliver what has been sent down to you from your Lord; and if you don't do it, you have not delivered His message (at all); and Allah will protect you from the people ..." (Quran 5:67).
Some of Sunni references confirming that the revelation of the above verse of Quran was right before the speech of Prophet in Ghadir Khum:
      (1) Tafsir al-Kabir, by Fakhr al-Razi, under commentary of verse 5:67, v12, pp 49-50, narrated on the authorities of Ibn Abbas, al-Bara Ibn
      Azib, and Muhammad Ibn Ali.
The Messenger of Allah declared: "It seems the time approached when I shall be called away (by Allah) and I shall answer that call. I am leaving for you two precious things and if you adhere both of them, you will never go astray after me. They are the Book of Allah and my progeny, that is my Ahlul-Bayt. The two shall never separate from each other until they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise)."
Then the Messenger of Allah continued: "Do I not have more right over the believers than what they have over themselves?" People cried and answered: "Yes, O' Messenger of God." Then Prophet (pbuh) held up the hand of Ali and said: "Whoever I am his leader (Mawla), Ali is his leader (Mawla). O' God, love those who love him, and be hostile to those who are hostile to him."
      Some of the Sunni references:
      (1) Sahih Tirmidhi, v2, p298, v5, p63
      (2) Sunan Ibn Maja, v1, pp 12,43
      (3) Khasa'is, by al-Nisa'i, pp 4,21

@@hsm906 Add up the Khulafa Rashideen (5) to the Khulafa of Bani Umayya (14), you'll get 19. Quoting from Wikipedia regarding the last Umayyad caliph, Marwan II:
"Marwan ibn Muhammad ibn Marwan ibn al-Hakam (Arabic: مروان بن محمد بن مروان بن الحكم, romanized: Marwān ibn Muḥammad ibn Marwān ibn al-Ḥakam; c. 691- 6 August 750), commonly known as Marwan II, was the fourteenth and last caliph of the Umayyad Caliphate, ruling from 744 until his death. His reign was dominated by a civil war, and *he was the last* Umayyad ruler *to rule the united Caliphate* before the Abbasid Revolution toppled the Umayyad dynasty." End of quote.
This means, when the Abbasids rise to revolt with the Alawites against the Umayyad, there is no longer a united caliphate, and hence had weakened. So, let's start eliminating some caliphs.
      From the top:
Firstly, we have to remove *Imam al-Hasan ibn Imam Ali (a.s. & r.a. to both),* or rather, combined his caliphate to the caliphate of his father, Imam Ali ibn Sidi Abu Talib (a.s. & r.a. to both).
This is because the Prophet said in another Hadith that the Rashideen caliphate will last exactly 30 years, which includes the 6 months of Imam al-Hasan (a.s.). From the Demise of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in Rabiul Awwal 11 AH, to the Demise of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) in Ramadhan 40 AH, to the nomination of Muawiyah (r.a.) 6 months later in Rabiul Awwal 41 AH. Exactly 30 years, and the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had told the truth. That leaves 18.
Next, we have to remove *Muawiyah ibn Yazid* and also *Marwan ibn al-Hakam,* because they reign contemporary with Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr (r.a.), and were not united under one caliph. That leaves 16.
      Now from the bottom:
We have to remove the last four Umayyad caliphs, and they are *al-Walid ibn Yazid, Yazid ibn al-Walid, Ibrahim ibn al-Walid* and *Marwan ibn Muhammad.* This is because the caliphate already started its decline.
That leaves 12, and the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had told the truth, that the Caliphate will remain strong until after 12 caliphs ruled over the Muslim ummah.
Now, let's go with your assumption that *the caliphate refers to the imamate of the 11 Imams (a.s.), and the twelveth being your Mahdi.* Question: Has the Imamate ever declined?
Well, no because firstly, your Mahdi's reign had not ended. And secondly, you only believe in 12 caliphs, and there is no one to be compared them with. For the Ismailis, maybe, because they believe in more than just 12 Imams. But for you twelvers, it's not possible.
And this is just refuting your interpretation of the first Hadith. Wait till I refute the rest.
So, to recap, who were the 12 caliphs?
      1) Abu Bakr ibn Abi Quhafa (r.a. to both)
      2) Umar ibn al-Khattab (r.a.)
      3) Uthman ibn Affan (r.a.)
      4) Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib + his son Imam al-Hasan (a.s. & r.a. to all three)
      5) Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan (r.a. to both)
      6) Yazid ibn Muawiyah
      -Muawiyah ibn Yazid-
      -Marwan ibn al-Hakam-
      7) Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan
      8) Al-Walid ibn Abd al-Malik
      9) Sulayman ibn Abd al-Malik
      10) Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz (r.a.)
      11) Yazid ibn Abd al-Malik
      12) Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik
      -Al-Walid ibn Yazid-
      -Yazid ibn al-Walid-
      -Ibrahim ibn al-Walid-
      -Marwan ibn Muhammad-
      -Abbasid Caliphs-
      -Fatimid Caliphs-
      -Ayyubid Caliphs-
      -Mamlukite Caliphs-

Halfway in and I've heard more than enough (of course this amount of listening does not suffice for those who have limited information/knowledge regarding this subject)....
Funny thing is that I, via my upbringing, learnt that Lady Fatimah had passed away through sheer sadness and nostalgia - the passing of her father, our beloved Prophet. I do remember very vividly at the time hesitating for a split second at this piece of history but then thought 🤔 yes, extreme pain can do such a thing. We see it in some mothers losing a child etc but such cases revolve around only that exact situation. I.e. the loss of a loved one...
There was certainly no mention of anything else until I came across it... and once I did the claim of 'death by sadness' went right out of the window... it's so obvious why a certain group in power would want to hide these facts (although they are available, buried deep in certain texts). The agenda is obvious. The systematic breakdown of that particular daughter and her family was undeniably intentional. Stripping them of their rights beginning with physical property was a must in order to establish unjustifiable control. Telltale signs of tyranny. Of course it went from bad to worse. You needn't be Sunni or Shia to conclude that injustices had taken place during and after the beloved Prophet's death. It really is a foregone conclusion!

PS: If the hadith of the messenger was relied upon by Abu Bakar (ra) then that is logical. If he wanted the land he could afford to buy it being the Khalif. If he wanted it he could have divided it up ie given it a share to the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (S) as well.
