Summer Of 69
I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it til my fingers bled
It was the summer of 69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jmmy quit and jody got married
I shoulda known we'd never get far
Oh when i look back now - that summer seemed to last forever
And if i had the choice - ya - i'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin's down at the drive-in
And that's when i met you
Standin' on your mama's porch - you told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand - i knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life - back in the summer of 69
Man we were killin' time - we were young and restless
We needed to unwind - i guess nothin' can last forever
And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Sometimes when i play that old six-string
I think about ya wonder what went wrong
Standin' on your mama's porch - you told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand - i knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life - back in the summer of 69

Me too I'm 31 good and warm memories of childhood
When I hear this song, memories of my youth flood my brain. I was 18 years old in 1969.
Bryan Adams was 9 years old in the Summer of '69.
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.

It is possible. I feel a evening walk in the Woods with dunlight or a lattice climbing on a tall steeltower during sunset when i hear this song.
The song is shallow, full of cliches, a bit silly, and perfect. I say this as a compliment. When I can throw all the criticisms that are easy to throw at a work and I still like it there's a very odd magic involved.
Born in 97 but there's just something about 80s music that makes me feel good lol .
I have the same feeling

Born in 1998. You right🤟💥🔥🤘
I absolutely LOVE this song!!! It’s such a classic. Seeing people enjoy this song as much as I do makes me feel so good for some reason. Absolutely one of the best rock songs ever created!!!
I love when it randomly comes on during a night at the pub and hearing people simultaneously yelling out the lyrics!
I turned 21 not long ago and i dont go out to bars much yet, but i hope to more often just for sweet human interactions like that. Singing drunks are good drunks 😂 @@andrewburgemeister6684

I’m 15 and love this song 😂ppl my age love mc and tha I jsut rock with old music
Memories of youth, days of thunder, chasing sunsets with my boys, all come flooding back
wow... everyone has that lyric that means the most to them.... to me its when he says... sometimes I play that old six string, think about you and wonder what went wrong.... I still have the guitar that I taught my love to play on years ago. She made me like this song and I taught her how to play it. She was pretty talented actually. I never was sure just why she left. but sometimes I pick up that old six string she used to hold 30 years ago and wonder just what went wrong
If you really think about, anyone who was born on June 9th 1969 are probably the luckiest people on earth.
Bellísima canción ❤
Summer Of 85 Was A Great Year In Music History.

I Was Teased In School for Saying I Like To Hear Bryan Adams. But that was the 80s and I'm 52 and I'm Still Listening to the Old School Rock N Roll. Be Yourself. Stay Tuned In To Yourself And Be You. ❤😊

I graduated from high school in 1969 and this always brought back memories of those wonderful days. And then I learned that this song wasn't actually a reference to 1969 but about some "other" 69 :)
Qué grande qué es Bryan Adams summer of sixty nine❤🎉❤
I love this Song its the best Song ever 🎉🎉😊
Every single man can relate himself to this song....
I REALLY can't believe that this is Bryan's voice in 2022. It's amazing!!! NONE of the other 80s rock artists kept their voice in such a brilliant shape
I agree wholeheartedly, I thought it was only remastered until I saw that in the description it says re-recorded. This song is absolutely beautiful

Them teens in 2069 better be grateful for this...
Was the summer of 99 for me, but yeah, future generations will be blessed to remember the summer 2069 and party like its 2099. Good luck to them with y3k!
Wouldn't y3k be the year 3000?
@@MadWinter889 Yup. Just wanted to force that awkwardly in there.
I love playing this song on Beatstar
It doesn't get more classic than this from Bryan Adams. Always goes down a storm when performed live.
First time I heard the song and came across Bryan Adams was when he was the main musical act at the 2015 AFL Grand Final, compared to other Grand Finals where the musical acts ranged from average to awful (2011 was infamous for Meatloaf) he tore the stadium down with how awesome he was, I remember it was a warm spring day and enjoying a couple of cold ones watching him and the game!

I love summer of 69 bryan adams is amazing I love his music
My dad loved this song! In 1969 he was 15 years old and had a blast! Somewhere out there he's jamming to this right now!🙏😇🇺🇸
This makes me happy and sad at the same time, a nostalgia when you know those days will never happen again, or perhaps you never even had them.
I was not even born in 1969 but still I can feel those times through this song
this song has nothing to do with the year 1969 . The lyrics have a lot of sexual innuendos and double meanings . FYOI
I don’t think people these days realize how effin’ cool Bryan Adams is. Rugged, honest, great music, the whole package. I blasted “Run To You” with my windows down and every vehicle at red lights gave me a nod or thumbs up. I’ve never met Bryan but being a drummer myself, I appreciate the arrangements of most of his songs. He’s the man.
Nothing last forever... Except Bryan Adams...
Thanks to Bryan Adams...this is not only memories of unforgettable times for him ARE FOR ALL HIS FANS!!! 👍👍👍.
Nací en 1966, pienso rodar por este sitio unas centurias, así que en 2069 escucharé este rock a todo volumen ...
i still remember every word in the lyrics, this song never gets old! played this song till my ears bled ;)

Our fav rocker is getting old.......it hurts me to think of him getting old with his timeless classics.....love u forever......summer of 69 was the first song I ever heard in my life.......back when I was around 2-3 years old.....so nostalgic 🔥👑
Thank You for this song Bryan my mom loved this song and would sing it to my kids.. since she passed almost two year now my kids 15 and 18 think of her every time they hear it.
God bless
My condolences. She seemed like a youthful grandma.
Love this song
'69 was when my parents met and my favourite band was formed!

The year I graduated high school, this will always be one of my favorites and a true classic! 🎶🎶💋🎶🎶
Same here Where did the years go !
This is a masterpiece for my dad
The anthem of my generation. Got my driver's license in '69. This is the song they'll play at my funeral. Sad but true, they were the best years of my life. Maybe if I knew that then, it would have made a difference. Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. Thanks for the memories, and long gone pals and gals. Btw, it's OUR kids and grand-kids running amok and hating on America. WTF happened? And to set the record straight, back in the day, 'free love' wasn't 'free'. It was buy one, 'get one' free. Which wasn't a bad deal. luuuuv uuuuuu
Bryans voice is wondorous as ever
I want to go back so badly.
I think of those days when I hear this song. I feel nostalgic for something I’ve never experienced. It breaks my heart but still fills me with joy.
Wasn’t even alive in 69. Born in 2001 but this makes me feel like I gottta get out there and make more memories!!
hahahahahaha song ain't bout the year 69 . LOL
Wonderful song💯💯💯💯👍👍👌💙💚
I love this song. It makes me remember all my childhoods friends and all the unforgettable moments we spent together.
Always liked this song. I met my wife in the summer of 1969.
Growing up with a brother 9 years older than me, I had an older taste of music and BA and Tom Petty were my favorites. Summer of 69 is my all time favorite as I was a dancer in my youth. This song just lets me let loose and be free!
The summer of 2012 the best days of my life !!! Thank you svitlana your the greatest woman I've ever known

My big brother and I got tickets early 90s to the Saskatoon show, it's his birthday today, 45, I was 10 then tho, this was the greatest thing to happen to me ever, ever,.. those were the best days of my life, with my brother and live music..
I was born in '89...
Why does this song make me so _incredibly_ sad?
If this doesn’t work…I don’t know what will…my love for you is so strong it was written in the stars
The best thing out of the 80's... Bryan Adams and this song...
All of his stuff pretty much.
He got me through amazing times and the rough stuff. Thank you.
Bryan, you are a true inspiration, your songs bring back all the good memories, your voice sounds amazing man, kept in mint shape all these years, rock on my brother!!
When this album came out I was 15 and spending the summer with my grandparents in McMinnville TN. I got a job hauling hay for my uncle and used my first check to buy the Reckless album and Springsteen's Born in the USA. Every afternoon, me and one of the other guys ( Dale was his name, he had a car.) would pop this song in and go find some country girls to hang with. We would end up out in some hay field or barn loft with the sun going down, sipping our first beers, singing and dancing with those girls! Those were some of the best days of my life!
I love Bryan Adams and I also love this song ❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💕💕💕🎸
I broke into tears when I first heard this song.
This music instills in me a sense of artificial nostalgia. I didn’t even _exist_ until 2004!
IT'S STILL MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!
i feel like anyone can relate to this song growing up and things changing sometimes u gotta go with the flow man
live your life and be kind to your fellow man
hold the door open for someone

Best days of my life..... chilling with my bros with this song

Music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed heart opens.💕
One of the living legend of all time Bryan Adams 💕, thanks for giving us a tremendous childhood...
Oh man, you don't know how much i love this song...
I have recently found it and i am so glad for it...
Those was the best days of my life, the same feeling when I first time heard this song.
Honestly, I like the old version better, it is somehow more raw, real... This is a little too cleaned, Sorry.
@@marleensta5688 His voice is more raw now though, i prefer his voice this way; older and more raw.
Hi ❤ this was the musician star when i was a youth
Classic song we've all heard a millions times. I had to revisit after watching Warren Huart just to listen to that synth part that comes in. Very subtle but it does add the modern day sound correlating to the lyrics, "and now the times are changing.." Bob Clearmountain is a great producer.
One of the greatest rock hooks of all time--a festival of badass opening and closing of loops, catching and releasing of tension, and all the rest. Mr. Adams is insanely engaging in concert, and the love in the room is palpable. This mix makes my soul smile. Life is good.
Hi all Bryan Adams fans !!!!
Those old good days...🎉
This is still FANTASTIC after all these years and remains one of my all time favorite rock music jams! I have to hear it with the volume maxxed way up on high!

1984 tune and was a design of the 80s. I was 17 in 84 and this song was played in cassette players in back corn fields in Ohio in 84 through the 90s. What a time to be on this planet.
Its was the Summer of 85 when this song first came out... I was 13... Have listened to it hundreds of times since then... I'm 51 now and it's still as great as it was back then.
