- i rearranged my apartment! i've been staying inside & working from home, and i realized my current setup was not working, so i decided to go all bobby berk/property brothers and move everything. hopefully this works better!

idea from a 10th grade design student:
to maximise the space and make a desk that works for you, you can put a flip down table (murphy bed style) on the right hand side of the television so that when it flips down, it will be facing the cabinet with the mirror on it and your backdrop will be the living space.
all you would need is a floating bench, a couple of hinges and google to set it up.
It would allow you to film with the same backdrop, use less space and you will be able to stow away the table when you are finished.
ps. I absolutely love your videos and I have been here since the clothing haul/lookbook days 🥳😅🥰

First of all, your apartment is amazing and I LOVE the new setup! I want to suggest moving the table away from the tv wall a bit, maybe switch the plant and table out or put the plant at the corner of the table to separate dining and office space?? I'm loving how active you're being while we're all stuck at home. It's definitely helping to make it more bearable! Thank youuuuu!!😍❤❤❤

Looks so good! Your space is so versatile. Love that the desk is on wheels for easy rearranging.
Another idea could be to 180 turn the desk and have the feather wall as your background. It might feel weird to have the desk floating off of the wall but it also might help the space feel more contained. And that way you’re looking out at the rest of your apartment rather than looking right at the wall.
Or, have the desk facing the window so you can shoot with natural light, and get one of those folding walls with a cool pattern to use as a background

Definitely my dream apartment/house. I honestly like the new arrangements. The desk is next to window, so whenever i need a short break i can look outside and relax. Just looking at the sky will be enough

Love it this way, Amanda! I would "park" the stationary cart in the kitchen (wall opposite to the cabinets) and just roll it out when needed. That would reduce visual clutter in your living space... Love from Germany!
I really hope this makes you feel more productive and able to get more work/home separation! This is something I've recently discovered is an issue for me now that I'm working from home due to COVID (with no room for an office), but I'm finding sitting at my desk while I work and avoiding it on weekends is not too bad, even though the desk is right next to my sofa. Also good job for being sensible and taking it in baby steps
we moved our apartment around when I found out I would have to work at home due to COVID for quite some time (Vancouver BC!). My fiance and I are both working from home and live in a a 700 sqft one bedroom apt with 2 dogs! So I feel yah! Love rearranging furniture. It looks great!
When you enter the apartment, seeing the original dining area with the plant and the mirrored area, I feel looks more aesthetically pleasing but I can fully appreciate your need for a more functional workspace that you can live with.

It's so funny to See Amanda do this now because as Quarantine started I compleeeetly Changed my room 😂 New Placements, new color in The walls, re-colored my furniture... It can be soo much fun. I can only recommend 😂🥰
This made me so happy to watch because I always get unsettled when people have a workspace in the middle of their living area instead of in a corner or another room. For me I use my closet or the corner of my parents living room in order to keep school and everything else separate from my bedroom and relaxing activities. (Your lofi playlist has helped me be productive a lot more, so I am really happy about that)

I’ve never been so excited about a video, when Amanda mentioned a future video about reorganising her stationery! I always rewatch her old organising my stationery video and ahh I’ve been watching for an updated one!!
I've been going to the Office some days and others at home and I just felt my apartment could look better so I sold my dinning table and chairs...bought new and I'm so happy. Looks different and bigger. Welcome changes!
I’m commenting halfway through, just looking at the sketches but having the dining room table in the middle would definitely give you work/personal life separation!
Some pretty drapes will easily fix the backlight problem and give you a nice background. Also great for retaining heat and energy efficiency!
Have you thought of getting a sleeper sofa as a bed in the living room and the bedroom as your office?
Would you enjoy guests sitting in your bed and maybe dropping food or simply being with... Not so clean clothes?

The setup looks great! If you really want a separate space you can setup paperwalls or paravan like the Japanese ones. They are super light and pack away flat so if you don't want to look at your office when you're on your coach or want a new backdrop you can place those paperwalls and if you want the space open you set them aside. Plus you can draw on them with your new calligraphy skills 😄
I have kind of a similar room situation as you minus the dining table but my desk is basically next to the coach and I would love to move it around but one, my arm is hurt and has to be still and two I have to compromise with my bf and he doesn't want the living area to change

One thought I had while watching this was to have the desk perpendicular to the wall, instead of parallel and in-line with the dresser. That way, you wouldn't be able to tell that it juts out, and you wouldn't have furniture lined up against that wall (which would make that corner of the apartment would appear more "structured"). An added bonus is that you would be able to look outside the window while you work! It may not work, but I just thought I'd suggest it :)

Get ikea drawers...the ones you have on your desk work space ...on which you keep a table top ...your filming area....like the ones that are above one another ...like if you get 5 of those ...no need of any other storage space

Great start! ur inspiring me to work on my own now. I like how you now have your office out of the main traffic flow. Looks great. Here are some more ideas for you. First, love your lil rug idea for your "new office." But the lovely mirror makes the space a little too busy now and claustrophobic. How about moving the mirror to another wall? Maybe the wall where the desk was before? Also, that dining room table - it's so damn gorgeous, but it's impeding the flow of energy there now. A slightly smaller round one would be much easier to move around. Also, maybe look for chairs or table with slightly less "busy" legs. All the legs were fine before, but now more in the middle of the room, they seem a little distracting. I can't wait to see what else you do. I'm off to plot some rearranging of my own now! ;)

Did this a few weeks ago- rearranged my furniture to just... not feel so samey since we're in lockdown and I'm stuck at home so much (studying, working and living at home- don't usually work or study (24/7) at home).

Thank you for this lovely video. If you moved the desk a little closer to the window, then the stationary cart would fit between the desk and the art supply cabinet. I'm thinking the stationary cart might get too much sun that close to those windows. Looking forward to seeing the art supplies reorganization too.

You could put your acrylic containers and art tubes in your walk in. closet- You have room under your clothing hangers- It would at least be out of sight until you figure something else out. Can you leave your video light and camera holder behind your desk, set up, so you don’t have to keep moving it? Maybe get a decorative screen that you could put in front of the desk/production studio when you are not wanting to see it if it ends up bothering you. It is a buyers market now. Call a real estate agent to start looking for you- Nothing to loose and I think if you had a dedicated room for your work, you might be in a better place mentally.

Absolutely love the new layout! A few things to note:
- That kind of plant is NOT fragile at all, you don't have to be too worried about moving it
- I adore where you put the mic, that was a sweet spot, but would the sun damage your mic?
- Your Nintendo Switch skin is too adorable!!!
- Used to have a gaming PC and it can get pretty loud when recording, so placement matters
