BH has neve lacked emotion. You can tell he is feeling EVERY NOTE he plays and he is one with the guitar otherwise he couldnever play and record what he does and has. He is unique in the guitar world above all others! How can anyone say he does not play with emotion after hearing this song. There are guitarists certainly a lot more famous but NONE as capable, talented or gifted. A true one of a kind and I hope people realize what we have in our midst - right now.
He also has the album In The Hollow Hills. That one has his 2 most blusiest songs. His bluesiest being "Ghosts Of Broken Eggs" and the second one is "In The Hollow Hills". (Although for the song "In The Hollow Hills" the genre is mostly just Buckethead, with a bluesy tone.
Those people at that party just don't know how lucky they were to witness this live. I wish there was a full length video of that night. I would pay a lot for it
Yes indeed Do you know where this was and is there a story behind it ? Think I heard that he was playing at a friends wedding reception, hence the more traditional approach to a blues classic- quite touching if true that he would moderate his style for the benefit of his mate but not for commercial reasons
I have to come back to watch this video. I love this The Thrill Is Gone so much. I am just so jealous he isn't in my house playing. Lol I love Bucket so much❤
Hey, it's his persona. Bob Dylan was born Robert Zimmerman, grew up middle class in the mid-west somewhere and told everybody when he got to NYC that he had been living as a hobo and his parents were dead. None of it true but it got everybody talking about the orphan kid, his songs and his guitar playing. Bucketheads legacy will be his music.
i here ya bro! played all my life too. i recently switched from electric to strictly acoustic but it all took a new direction when i found this guy! great inspiration for writing stuff.
Close friend or a record company exec - but BH has to live like everyone else and maybe for the right price. BH is not a sell-out by any means as he has stuck true to his art and non commercialism - but I can tell you that if he would play privately at my home for me and some friends for $10,000 to 20,000 - I would pay it - no questions.
A bit of distortion but Buckethead still shines and this is still a kick ass video. Up close the personal. You can't get beeter detail than this. Wish all the videos on TH-cam were this close. It is not often the cover is better than the original but this is one of those times. BH rules ! Those people don't know how lucky they were that evening.

His legacy will be the music he has created. If he wanted to be famous and remembered for the man that he is, then he obviously wouldn't wear the mask or bucket. If music these days requires a pretty face attached to it then there is something very wrong with the world.
You might like Buckets hero SHAWN LANE!!! (my picture) He plays a lot of Hendrix because Jimi was his hero (along with Holdsworth). And Shawn is the beast! You may have never heard Hendrix played like this before so BRACE YOURSELF!!! Shawn is the best TECHNICAL player I've ever heard! His covers include LITTLE WING, ALL ALONG the WATCHTOWER and PURPLE HAZE to name a few, Peace!
Awesome. I think the poor sound is either the recording device or the transfer. Would love to have a high quality recording of this jam. We are not worthy.
Why do I get the feeling that everyone at that party died from something Bucket put in the drinks? and they all started to drop dead or fall over vomiting at about the time this video cuts out? . . . And yet Bucket continues to jam.
i feel ya ima huge blues fan bb king stevie ray joe banamassa to just name a few and with his guitar talent it would plim of the chain to have a blues album
@hugeacdcfan123 I have to disagree with you here. Big B is playing his own interpretation of the classic song. This jam is flowing with his style and emotion.
That's underground for you. Think about it like this... If all those Justin B and lil Wayne fans all went to a BH concert, would u wanna go? The experience would be ruined bc they are into music with "short shelf life". kinda like milk, while BH music is like wine, just gets better. One of the primary reasons I love BH is because people like that don't listen to him.
Despite how bad the sound was in this video, I could not for the life of me switch it, truly incredible music that makes a bad recording actually enjoyable hah.
I think "Bucket Head" is a persona handed down generation after generation, assumed by a new young ward until he has reached his full potential of RAWK. A guitar Dread Pirate Roberts if you will
@ISN1P3DI about $3500 bucks for booking on a normal tour, seeing as how this was near where he lives im assuming it applies about the same. I would see it as worth it considering most wedding bands charge about $2500 for a few hours, might as well get god himself to play there and say, "ah, screw the huge buffet"
@BaconSquishy Maybe they look ignorant to you because Bucket has played alot of times in front of them and they are already ok with his awesomeness if you understand what i mean :p
do you mean that right hand flickering he does? The video is pretty bad, but I guess he slightly adjusts his guitar's volume or tone. Some guitarists do it all the time when they play.
the more I listen to BH the more he amazes me... no musician or band has ever done that to me before... BH forever !
I cannot think of any other guitarist that can make this song sound SO good.

Possibly the best marriage of the old and the modern blues i have ever heard.
Exquisite soul filled rendition
Buckethead needs to make a blues album, it would be amazing
familyguyjunk1 try too many humans . Pure blues

Too Many Humans is just an awesome album. It's a journey.

@@andrewpaterson5394 That's apparently what it was, yes. A private gig he did, probably through some friend/family connection.
I have to come back to watch this video. I love this The Thrill Is Gone so much. I am just so jealous he isn't in my house playing. Lol I love Bucket so much❤
OMG I love this song. Bucket is such a talented guitarist, very versatile. Amazing!

It's a shame the recording is so bad, Bucket absolutely killed it. Man can literally play everything, blues included.
i here ya bro! played all my life too. i recently switched from electric to strictly acoustic but it all took a new direction when i found this guy! great inspiration for writing stuff.
He's the only one who carries the torch for Jimi since Stevie passed on.

The music is beautiful, and powerful.

Buckethead is the best ever. Love this.
i've seen muddy waters, bo diddley, b.b. king, stevie ray, his brother and the fabulous thunderbirds, buddy guy... this was smooth as silk.
It’s not Stevie Ray and his brother. It is Stevie and Jimmy.
this song is just orgasmic! BB and buckethead thank u, thank u so much!
Fantastic, I ❤️ this.
Oh hell yeah....... don't get no better than this!
his guitar is shining, it proves buckethead has got some magic chicken souls ... and he plays awesome of course "yıh yıh yıh"
the grill is gone
+marino4691 LOL we sing it the drill is gone
This bill is wrong.
Please bucket man please, record a hard core blues album for us.
me too buckethead is awsome man he sets the mood
i love all the mid range and bottoms that makes the camera shake
@ghetto926 Im glad he uploaded it - bucketheads playing more than makes up for the bad sound quality!

Buckethead plays an amazing bass as well.
@Havok245 I really often listen to blues - but there are very few players that play with emotion like Buckethead.
Wedding. At 1:23 That is the bride. They paid something like under 4k to get him there, and knew the man through people. Odd song for a wedding.
Their is a Legend of a man who Once Dined at KFC! He touched the servers counter, and picked up his family size, Extra Crispy... and history was made!
swing and a miss.
When I listened to this, I got the Blues, but the thrill wasn't gone.
it is awsome song i love cranking it on my bose speakers
Thanks ::

@laumaelinful If I may, i think it was a Binge n' Grab live video when he dropped a pick during a slow part of the solo...
Buckets is at the top of his Game ! hes really , really good. I think the best.
wish you didnt record this on your gameboy
You might like Buckets hero SHAWN LANE!!! (my picture) He plays a lot of Hendrix because Jimi was his hero (along with Holdsworth). And Shawn is the beast! play blues once in a while is good for our health...
I wish to hear this in good quality...
Chicken Butt Face is a technical wizard, a demon shredder, and a melodic poet. That's pretty cool. Who isn't jealous?
@predwrk Agreed - a high quality recording of this would be the jewel in my collection of music.
un cerveau de génie , mains parfaites , style de fou . guitariste hors du commun
Man i wish the distortion could be edited out. Best cover I've hard of this would be cool if it was on a Pike
Well put!
This is so goddamn cool!
🙌🏽❤️🙌🏽
AMAZING!!! Does anyone have the tabs for this?
Totally Badass!!!!!!
very nice . . :)))
i want buckethead at my wedding yes that be very nice
@Fr0stf1r3Gam1ng Im currently working on the Tab for this Live Performance.
Once its done i'll post it on the TK.
This very much reminds me of Captain EO's Voyage.
Awesome. I think the poor sound is either the recording device or the transfer. Would love to have a high quality recording of this jam. We are not worthy.
@Havok245 plenty emotion from where i am sitting from, excellent cover.
@superscaryeti Noone, its a Backing Track running through his iPod
I wish I could find this song with better quality somewhere
Why do I get the feeling that everyone at that party died from something Bucket put in the drinks? and they all started to drop dead or fall over vomiting at about the time this video cuts out? . . . And yet Bucket continues to jam.
Classic
B.B. King didn't write it, but definitely made it famous. Bucket is god.
this song n a woman make perfection
i feel ya ima huge blues fan bb king stevie ray joe banamassa to just name a few and with his guitar talent it would plim of the chain to have a blues album
WHAT?!?! oh shietttttt Buckethead covers BB

I read that line as ''i want buckethead in my pants'' lol
at 29 is why i love live concerts that mid range assault makes me shiver :)
Be king new this guy was super talent
He's using his the kills witch not adjusting the volume, I may be wrong though haven't finished this video
Holy buckets some one is a lucky bird man\,,/
I think he lives in the Santa Cruz area as well ? When i win the lotto i make sure i get to see him play ;-P
Good music, but the recording can be better.
I really want to hear this in good quality.
Despite how bad the sound was in this video, I could not for the life of me switch it, truly incredible music that makes a bad recording actually enjoyable hah.
0:57 is the best fill ive ever heard

So now Buckethead is playing living rooms???? ROFL.... I'd love to book him in my family room....he is awesome!!!!
"Swine fuck"
I guess you watched Secret Recipe? XD
"Now some swine FUCK... fucked these two up..."
@BaconSquishy Maybe they look ignorant to you because Bucket has played alot of times in front of them and they are already ok with his awesomeness if you understand what i mean :p
@alt9001 hahahaha, you're the MAN!!!!
@alt9001 i beg to differ. I see him doing nothing but the same funny face every single time he's performing! lol I Keed the Buckethead!!
do you mean that right hand flickering he does? The video is pretty bad, but I guess he slightly adjusts his guitar's volume or tone. Some guitarists do it all the time when they play.
What, BH live in someone's living room? Damn, i'm green with envy :-)
WTF?
Awesome!
I feel he really got close to the feeling of BB King's original on this when he wasn't shredding for fun haha.
@beyondonethousand How did that comment go too far?
Things that you want to do before die:
1 Meet Buckethead
is that Jennifer Garner at 1:17?
@MrChaotiktak Try Iron Maiden :)
@alt9001 But I can see him making funny face in many several VDO : )
@thepain0815 sweet love here it with not so much feed back
IIRC it was a family reunion
@Havok245 That makes no sense... Leave your fanboy discussion out of this and keep it to yourself.
I did too, the audio is terrible.
Better than bbking
god bucket make a blues album
@predwrk agree 100%
What's he doing at 2.20?
