Thank you so much for this very helpful tips and this super nice Video. You reached my heart and now iam more and more exited to be part of all this on 5.11.2023. can’t wait 😊
I am running NYC this year! My 5th overall and so stoked. I hired a trainer & followed the plan. Finally tapering. As suggested I am taking the ferry. I will start slow!! I promise. I will also take the city in knowing that I am riding on the footsteps of giants. Thanks!
Best video I’ve seen for tips I was looking for!!!! Thank youuuuuuu so much! This will be my 1st in person marathon, and I’m pregnant, so I’m trying to learn as many tips as I can find! Thank you very much!!! ❤
Ohhh thanks!! Congratulations on your pregnancy! 🥰 It's going to be VERY hot Sunday. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Good luck and come back to tell us how you did!
Thank you for the tips. Many of them I didnt know about earlier. I am running the 2024 NYC marathon. This will be my first marathon. I ordered a DJI Action 4 for filming it. Now, considering the metal detector part, I am not sure if the attachment or any part of the camera is metal. Any idea on that? I'll get a plastic selfie stick but I am not sure if any part of the camera would be metal and if they will deny it.
I personally used a plastic selfie stick and I had it in my hand when I went through the police checkpoint. You could have a different experience though . I know if I were to bring my insta360 acepro without a stick I could still get good footage
I'm running the NYC marathon in 3 weeks. It's my first time doing it, but my second marathon overall. I'm very excited 😊 I have a question about the ferry. Because I got to booking it late, I chose the 5:45 am ferry trip to Staten Island. I still haven't got my wave time yet (It should be ready in a few days), but if my wave time is at a later time (10pm/10:30pm+), I was considering getting a later ferry to the island. Maybe 7 am or 7:30. Is this something you would recommend me doing, or is the day going to be so hectic that I should get my already chosen departure time regardless of wave start time?
I don't think they check times. As a matter of fact I was on a later ferry myself the year I ran it. Id email the NYRRs though. They might be able to give you the right answer. That's what I did.
I will think about you and this video when I am at mile 18 and ready to begin the suffer fest! See you at the start of the half and full at WDW. You're correct. This is the best marathon to run, but I like the bus.
The bus is a straight shot. But the ferry is so much more fun IMO. You'll have to come back here and let is know how it all went. Good luck and have a great race!
Awesome video, Suzie! Your excitement and passion for the NYC marathon has me wanting to do it some day! Love the detail of all the tips and tricks you shared, that is exactly what I would need to help make my NYC marathon experience better. Sending you best wishes that you get to run this race many more times!🤓 Cheers, Scott
Excelentes consejos Suzie ! Le enviaré este video a un amigo con el que acostumbro entrenar, el correrá Nueva York la próxima semana. Prefirió N.Y. porque no le gusto la pendiente de 21 km en Atenas 😂
im starting my 9+1 program in 2023 to qualify for the 2024 marathon when im 26!! my goal is 26.2 miles when im 26 years old!

Yes, the Staten Island Ferry is the best option. One other advantage is that you can sleep a little later, especially if you are in the last wave.
Agreed
Nice work on this video, great tips! Have fun running this year!!
Thanks Eric!!!
Thanks!! 😂 I'll try to remember to smile at the end. I always have the worst pics. Lol
Last year the photographers were in the weirdest places. Lol

Thanks for the tip's, Suzie. The NYC Marathon is one I hope to do in the future. Sweet TIE Fighter pumpkin.
Haha. You caught that!! I love it! I hope to be able to do it again. The NYC Marathon is amazing. it's a shame it's so hard to get in.

Maybe 2024. I am considering doing the 9+1 again.
My ferry transportation is scheduled at 9 am. My start time is 11:30 am. Will i have some more time to maybe chill a little bit before my race starts?
2h30 is about the right amount of time. I wouldn't push it... It takes a while to get to the runners village
@@IRunThings thank you.
Great stuff Suzie! Knowing to use the Staten Island Ferry is worth the price of entry alone! Keep pushing!
The Staten Island ferry makes it all better in my opinion. It's so cool! Specially if the day is clear of clouds
Awesome video Suzie!! Fantastic tips for the marathon here!! Also that is QUITE the collection of medals you have there!! 🥇
Thanks for the feedback. And yes, I LOVE My medals... I need a new rack though
You said it..Cancel those clowns.
Excelentes consejos Suzie !
