    The reason why these look like the Galaxy Lasko fans is because Lasko used to have some sort of joint venture with Sanyo many years ago. Even the Galaxy Laskos utilize the same Sanyo motors like Pat mentioned from whoistheguy724 on his videos. I’m pretty sure those American made Lasko’s from the 70’s and 80’s had their motors made in Japan or simply imported and put together here in America. You can’t beat the quality of these Sanyos or even the American made Galaxy/Laskos. They are definitely ‘top of the line’ like you stated. #TheyDontMakeEmLikeTheyUsedTo

    These are the best fans to use In a bedroom due to how quiet they are.

      Agreed--this would make an excellent bedroom fan.

    Thanks for yanking that plunger! So good to finally get permission to force it!

      I find it hard to believe this is the way it was intended to be removed, but it's the only way I can figure.

    I had the stuck blade problem yesterday on a 9” green Sears/Galaxy fan. The metal stand variety. Someone recommended applying some oil to the shaft and heating it with a hair dryer. Then pulling on it slowly. I really wish that I had tried that because I did end up breaking 2 of the little pieces that flare out where the blade rests against the stop on the motor shaft. It’s not noticeable but also not good because those pieces stop the blade from spinning on the shaft. The superglue seems to be holding. I posted the video of the parking lot HPS lights by the way.

      I've had good results on a number of occasions with fixing blades with superglue.
      There are a lot of ways to get metal blades off shafts, but you're pretty limited with plastic. I have consistently had the best results with the puller and never damaged a blade using it.

    I have the 16" version, these are well built but I don't like on how the blades are thin on these fans, making them prone to shattering if hit with something or knocked over, but they do blow a lot of air

      I did notice the blades on the Lasko/Galaxy units seem to be a fair bit thicker.

    Put some penetrating oil before pulling.

    What tool do you use to remove stuck fan blades?

    Just bought a brand new Lasko 20 in basic box fan and it's out of balance right from the start. Paid $25. Isn't worth 10 bucks. The days of good quality fans are over.

    What year did this item release in North America? I'm trying to learn more about it since I inherited one.

    Seems to be a common issue with these Sanyo fans, with my fan I just gave the blades a good pull and it popped off. Later though while trying to take the motor apart one of the screw heads stripped and so I just poured oil down the shaft on each end and let it soak in. Seemed to work but I know I should try to figure out how to fully take it apart. Any ideas?

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll have to drill out the stripped screw.

      Guessing after that I have to use a long bolt and a nut being that the threads will be destroyed. Thanks for letting me know.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@versedbridge4007 It's possible to re-tap the threads on the other side, but much easier to just put the bolt on. Since that's an area that's not visible, I don't think it's worth the extra effort to repair the threads.

      @@JordanU Alright I will have to stop by the hardwares store and find a bolt and the nut. The thanks for the letting me the know.
