About 25 years ago my brother acquired a sickle bar mower from the late 40's with a broken wooden brace. Since it looked like the size of this brace was critical to the operation of the mower he went to the local John Deere dealer to see if they could possibly give him a working drawing he could use to make a new one. Parts guy got the model number off him, checked his computer, said "hang on", and less than 5 minutes later walked out of the back with the brace in hand. Brother traded about $25 for this piece of wood but it saved him trying to make one and more importantly, it worked. It was never more than a novelty mowing with it mostly because as you mentioned it didn't work very well and it worked less well when the tractor pulling it was about 1/3 as big as it should have been. Ever heard the expression "the tail wagging the dog"? That was that mower behind a 15HP Yanmar garden tractor. Good times. 😂
I don't mind being out-voted. I will do my best ro watch all of your videos, but if I get behind, or miss a couole, please forgive me. It is summertime here, so I'm doing a lot more outside stuff. I am also away on the 27th and 28th of December. Flying up to Auckland to pick up Nikki's new car, then taking 2 days to drive it home!
