    Really cool video! I wish you could test more materials like Titanium and maybe some carbon frames in a future. A titanium frame would be awesome to test too,just for the science hehehe. Steel made sense for a DH bike,tubes are slimmer and the weight is not something top off the list. Very simple and clean looking bike,quite like it. I hope you made some bikes for the general public once you are happy with the bike. Heal soon Neko!

      @Bonky-wonky ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CoticBikesUK sounds like a dream team, luis’ suspension wizardry combined with your metalworking craft. Friend of mine still rides his dh-001s, it still gives plenty of modern dh bikes a run for their money. Can’t think of any alloy dh frame that lasts this long.

    Maaan! I honestly didn’t like the way the aluminum frame looked… but in steel… you got my eye now… I NEED this bike now. I’m ready to rid my stable of my last carbon bike and make my stable all steel. Steel dominates!

  • @mike_millard

    That's awesome feedback. What about titanium? Or is there a reason you don't see too many titanium bikes anymore?

  • @HannyDart
    @HannyDart ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Big Question: How did the frame weights compare? Ashby would say they are similar, but in reallife with the design constraints they often turn out to be really different.

    Question for the rocker links, is there a specific reason you are relying on the bushings for rotation over something like a needle bearing?

    • @CoticBikesUK
      @CoticBikesUK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The shock install has enough width for the Fox bearing eyelet kit so there is no need for bearings in the rocker.

    In order for any comparative test to be of value one needs to eliminate the expectation bias by blinding the test. If you have certain preconceived notions of a steel bike and you know you know what frame you are riding - your objectivity goes through the window...
    I realise it is hard to hide the frame on a bike, but it is not impossible.
    A-B-X blind testing is the way

    It’s better to be honest that you can’t feel anything, than it is to fish for something and provide inaccurate feedback.
