  • This is the final message in the Book of Jeremiah. It testifies to the truthfulness and integrity of Jeremiah’s long, faithful work as a prophet of God. We see how Jerusalem gets destroyed and Judah and Jerusalem will be under the reign of Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar.
Here is a link to David Guzik's commentary on Jeremiah 52: enduringword.c...

Thank you for this study of Jeremiah. It is amazing how God’s Word speaks of the condition of our nation today as it did in Jeremiah’s day. God will reward him for staying the path and remaining faithful. May we all stay true to God’s direction for our life and remain in obedience.

So is this to say, those exiled repented and were brought back to the promise land?

I’m no Bible scholar, but from Bible accounts, 42,360 people returned to Judah, accompanied by 7,337 slaves and two hundred singers (read Ezra 2:64-65), including members of the ten northern tribes taken into captivity by Assyria (Ezra 2:70). Still, they were only a small remnant.
These returns happened in three waves. The first return was under the Zerubbabel, and those Israelites who returned built the second Temple.
About eighty years later, a second group, under Ezra, returned to the land.
The latter group returned under the leadership of Nehemiah.
Reading Ezra and Nehemiah will help put it all into context. 🙏🏼
