So Jay Park is a solo singer who was born and raised in Seattle and moved to Korea at the age of 17 to pursue a career in the K-Pop industry to help his family out. His mom suggested that he auditions for this company called JYP since he was into dancing and is actually part of a bboy crew called AOM (art of movement) even to this day. He got casted and moved to Korea with barely any knowledge of the korean culture or music scene over there cuz he grew up listening to a lot of American hip hop and RnB and barely spoke any korean. So he felt very out of place and frustrated because he had no one around him since he moved out there by himself but he eventually debuted under this K-Pop Group called 2PM back in 2008. Since his label JYP was one of the biggest companies in that industry his group had massive success and was one of the biggest boy bands in the country at that time. He left the group one year later due to a scandal that surrounded him. Back in 2005 he wrote some message to a friend on MySpace stating how much he disliked being in Korea at that time because he struggled a lot trying to adapt to that culture and the people. Being very young and naive at that time he wrote „Korea is gay“ and that sentence got taken out of context by the national Media and turned him from one of the biggest celebs into pretty much the public enemy. Back then no one took into account that the term „gay“ was used as a slang in the English language by teens in order to express a disliking of something but instead got taken literally by the Koreans and that‘s how he had to leave the group and the country and go back to Seattle. He then started working at a used tire shop and slowly began to work on his own music. As a korean Idol (aka K-Pop Star) it is very hard to be able to write and produce your own music because the songs that the Idols put out as a group are usually written for them so they have no creative control over anything they work with. Jay wanted to do his own music and started off at zero pretty much. He uploaded a cover of BoB‘s Nothing on You with a little rap verse on TH-cam and that video went viral with 2million views in 24 hours. Soon after many agencies from Korea and the states contacted him and wanted to work with him because he still had a huge following over in Korea thanks to his exposure as a K-Pop Idol in that Boygroup. He took that opportunity and moved back to Korea and kicked off his solo career in 2010. Ever since then he managed to establish himself as one of the biggest solo acts in the music scene in over there while rebranding himself as a RnB singer and later on as a Rapper as well. He managed to found not one but two of the biggest independent Hip Hop Labels over in Korea throughout his career and is widely known as a former K-Pop star turned rapper/solo artist and entrepreneur. Both his companies (first one being AOMG (Above Ordinary Music Group) which also is a play off of his bboy crew AOM and the second one being H1GHR MUSIC a more internationally focused label that promotes artists in Korea as well as artists in the US mainly Seattle) are household names in the Hip Hop/RnB scene which has started to gain more and more mainstream popularity thanks to a show called Show Me The Money, which is basically American idol but for rappers. Jay Park massively contributed to the rise of the korean Hip Hop scene as well. Overall he is one of the most versatile artist I know because he literally can do it all. He releases a lot of songs in korean and English and usually has English subtitles available. His more mainstream and pop stuff would be songs like All I Wanna Do, Solo, Me Like Yuh, Joah, V and his newest solo release called All The Way Up. If you like to listen to his RnB stuff then I would recommend songs like Abandoned (it was his Debut Single so it’s not the best in terms of quality I guess cuz he just started but it‘s still nice) or songs like Aquaman, 2nd Thots, I don‘t dissapoint, Ride Me, Turn off your phone (remix), Replay etc (mostly off his Album Everything you Wanted) For more softer stuff I would say Stay With Me, The Truth is, The Promise, By Myself and Nothing Matters are a good choice. His biggest genre especially in the past few years has been rap and hip hop. His biggest hit would be Mommae, which is a club song. But anything off his WORLDWIDE album is recommendable because that‘s his rap album which helped him establish himself as a rapper in the scene and become acknowledged as a serious rap artist since he has been known as a singer before. He also released a rap album that is completely in English called The Road Less Traveled and features a lot of small Seattle artists and homies. Some of them are signed under H1GHR. So good rap songs would be Want It, You Know, On It, Get It All, Monster, K-Town, Hulk Hogan, Raw Shit, Put Em Up, PLP and Who You (Remix) In 2017 he became the first Asian artist to get signed under Jay-Z‘s record label Roc Nation which made headlines in Korea and the states and he has been on a lot of American radio shows doing interviews promoting his EP Ask Bout Me with the title track Soju ft 2Chainz, also something you should check out as well are his interviews on No Jumper and Sway in the morning to get to know him a little better. He is actually quite funny and very chill and humble and knows about his place in hip hop and makes sure to give back to the culture and the people. As of now his label H1GHR MUSIC has released a compilation album in September featuring all artists under that label on two albums. The red tape which is hip hop themed and strictly rap and the blue tape which is a bit more mainstream and pop/RnB heavy. They have actually released music videos for their songs Afternoon, Gotta Go, Oscar, The Purge, 도착 (Arrival) (which is their cypher), How We Rock and a few more. There are several artist under the H1GHR Music Label some are american and some are korean, not all of them are on all songs either. The ones that mainly took part in this collaboration/compilation album are on the korean side. He participated in the latest season of the Voice of Korea and won that competition as well. In January Golden decided to not renew his 3year contract with H1GHR and changed his name back to G.Soul again. They are all on good terms tho no bad blood There are also some producers and DJs signed under H1GHR that are also household names in the industry by now like the Duo GroovyRoom (they both are like 24/25 and have already worked with the biggest names in Korean music in their short career) and the american artists that aren't well known and more underground like 28AV (used to go by the name Avatar Darko) who is originally from Russia and moved to the states or SoufSouf which is a rapper duo that recently got signed they are 22 and 18 I believe. I hope this wasn‘t too overwhelming for you and you got interested in checking out more from him and his crew! 😊

The order of their names in the title.is the other of their verses
A song I think you'll honestly love is put em up. It's a collaboration from Jay and another artist under aomg, ugly duck. Some people also mentioned this song below, it's completely rap/hip hop. It goes hard you should check it out. Your channel is amazing btw, as always. We love your honest commentary and reactions. And for future reference, if you're reacting to something from Jay Park or H1ghr music/AOMG then you don't need to pause for copyright. Jay loves reaction vidoes and doesn't flag them.
