What do you guys think of the new channel style (Intro, Outro, Profile Pic & Thumbnail style)? Let me know!! Also PLEASE let me know what kind of Eurovision related videos you'd like to see from me! 🫶🏻
I really enjoyed this analysis. It is something not many people do on youtube and I like closer looks to the song themselves. Would enjoy more of such videos even if other songs don't give that much content. But I am also into videos about funny and cute moments (especially hugs between artists 😄). And I like the thumbnail and the blue tone of your channel.
You seem to do a lot right already. It shows in your views. Congrats🥳 What about making a video about past (but iconic) ESC songs? (I can picture "Ein bisschen Frieden" here) Or ranking outfits? Your personal rating/ranking of those ESC songs that never got to participate in 2020? They had some bangers in there and I still cannot get over the fact that "Think about Things" was never performed on an ESC stage
Another layer to the song is the choice of Edgar Allan Poe. He is a famous poet and even earned a reputation in his time, but was poor. He lived by writing alone but often had to ask for assistance. There wasn't an international copyright law, so his work was often stolen and reproduced without him seeing a dime. A notable example from wikipedia, the Raven was an instant classic and garnered his name recognition, but he was only ever paid $9 for it. He died under mysterious circumstances and his reputation was immediately slandered by a rival. The life of an independent artist is far from the glitz and glamour promised by the companies who make the money.
I may have a bit more to add. 1) She says she is possessed by a highly influential male author in order to get her work accepted, because everyone believes women cannot produce good art. 2) "At least it pays to be funny" may be a dig at this very song and its fans. This hints the artists wrote a song with a silly tone purely for the purpose of becoming popular. And by making it popular, we have essentially proved their point and the point of the song.
Great analysis of this song. But I'd like to add, maybe the first part could also be about ghostwriting or about "borrowing" lines from well known writers and poets from the past to get attention and more streams. And maybe they're taking Universal as an example, bc it's their own record label? I don't know.
I've always heard the line "Edgar cannot pay rent for me." to mean that even if you were seen as one of the greatest writers of all time you still could not make money based on streams for a song. It doesn't matter how good your writing is, it's still not paid well enough.

Ich glaube, dass Österreich dieses Jahr eine faire Chance hat zu gewinnen. Der Songtitel ist interessant und der Beat ist catchy
