after a nearly sleepless night, with a possible emergency surgery for son, I agree that the routines can be a sanctuary. Having clothes at the ready can facilitate an emergency departure if necessary. Having the household in good order reduces stress , especially if one has the leadership role. Knowing the home is practically on autopilot, bills paid, car in good order, pantry stocked, medications current, and clean laundry are more important than many realize to get through a crisis. It creates a calm environment, and is steadying for myself as well. Thank you for your continuing support.
Hurrah. , Son is now stable. I was struck with an illness and Alan had to step in. I am so grateful all was at the ready. I am now recovered and my bedroom is cheerfully spotless! Love the pink polka dot scarf with the pink shell top.
I have enjoyed your Scottish accent so much - just had to comment when you said jotter… reminded me of school, back when I had a Scottish accent too! Thanks for all your encouragement
Hi Diane, have had family (son and his wife) staying with us this past week, mom in law in ICU, more family from out of town and your system and cheery face/voice have really saved me some stress. outfits ready to go, house is clean, menus planned and everyone thinks I am remarkable! I even made dinners for father in law for home while his wife in hospital. Nothing seems overwhelming, everything is clean, and I think of you and your flylady system that made this possible. Thanks for continuing to be a shining star !! much love from AZ, USA
Started the 31 Baby Steps again. It was encouraging to hear that you did Fly Lady a few times before it stuck. I’m also inspired by the little Hygge things you’re sharing. I bought a candle and a flower for our bathroom! :)
My day got a little out of order, so struggling. But I am using my positive thoughts, “It’s okay, right now is a good time to start.” Before I would stress and feel guilty telling myself, “it’s too late.” And I can grab my control journal and get back to business.
Yah flylady really helped me! 2007 flybaby here feeling alot calmer not so overwhelmed with my 8acres and 3story farm house, inch by inch everytjings a cinch ( you can do alot in 15 min ) Go all us flyladies,,🙌
Thank you for reading that testimonial to us from day 19. I have read it before but it is still so inspirational to hear it again. I went to bed early tonight and made it all cosy for me with a candle, a drink and watching you on this video. Thanks for all you do!
Yes I used to watch those house declutter programs and wished they would do mine, but like you I would be too embarrassed. Thanks to you and the Flylady the stress is less. ❤
Diane...you are a rockstar!!! Thanks so much for your inspiration & motivation. Routines make all the difference...& 1 step @ a time. Little things add up to BIG results. You've made a difference in my life. Thanks, kind lady!!
Díane !! You are amazing 😊 Thanks for all tour help and all the amazing ideas you give me to make my home and my life more organized Have a great day 😁
Hi Diane, sending you big hugs as your son moves and your lol gets lighter this week, been a strange week here too but slowly getting used to the new normal 💕
From the testimonial of Marla (FlyLady) it seems that they are empty nesters so her home stays pretty much undisturbed. Achieving such a state in a household of 4-6 members will require the mistress to work full time throughout the week, which, in my opinion, is not fun at all. A house with kids is really lived in. If it looks like a serene Bed & Breakfast, then there is something wrong with the occupants!

We cut down on laundry by using much smaller towels. Works great. Less water too.
Thank you Diane for for constant positivity and motivation. You are a ray of sunshine. X
Thank you so much, Ruth!

Loving these refresher videos💕💕💕
Thanks for all that you do!!!
Haha I feel so called out by the being on the phone instead of doing my routines like I want to :D Does make me feel great to know I'm not alone lol.
One of the most difficult ones for me as well. Progress though.

Delighted that you have plenty of new viewers. Go you😃.
I am thinking that maybe It would be good to have a lightweight copy of a picture of my hard working grandparents over my washing machine.
Thank you Diane!
I try to do a bit of laundry each day or Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Try not to do any over the weekend. 😂
I stay up late at night because it's the only time I can rest and relaxation.
I love the color if your hair.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! It's my natural mousy brown with a lot of grey coming in (I love my grey hair)!
I really love your bed with the drawers and space saving. Where could I find it? Have a good rest of the day.
IKEA Malm series!
Thank you for answering. You are great!! fm Italy
I'm heading to bed at 10:30

We enjoy the "lived in" look too - our home is not a museum - and we enjoy using the Flylady system: our house is clean, cosy and welcoming 😊
